[lojak] forex never actually shuts down...so this would be unprecedented if that was to occur. It only closes at 5 eastern Friday and reopens at 5 pm sunday.

bones] showmethemoney Lojak is right, the market never really closes until Friday, to reopen on Sunday. But note the daily schedule for worldwide updates for all markets is notification just before 4 pm EST.

They do this in order to rollover the open positions from one day to the next. In the Forex, the interest rates are set daily, so they rollover...
