I can see that many have reached a point of high frustration and concern with the Iraqi Dinar endeavor. It is just not with some here at PTR but on every board you go to. It has been a long and continuously trying road with many highs and lows. I will try to give some facts as to why I believe in this RV. Lets look at some of the facts about this Iraqi Dinar venture and what the reality of the RV is based on. I'am not perfect so feel free to respectfully add or debate any of this info. I will make this as short as possible.

In 1932 the IQD was pegged to the BP and at $4.86 USD. and held there until 1949 when due to conflict after conflict interupting progress the IQD dropped to $2.80. The IQD held there until around 1971 when there was major realignment of world currencies which caused a devaluation of the USD which then boosted the IQD to $3.39. By 1982 the IQD had devalued by around 5% and ended up around $3.22 USD per IQD. Some countries did not recognize these rates and bartered rates with Iraq.

Now lets jump up to the first Iraq - US war over Kuwait. At this time the instability of Iraq run by Saddam caused the IQD to become unstable due to sanctions imposed before and after this conflict. The result of the 2nd Iraq-USA war was total destruction of Iraq's financial system and infrastructure. Once the war was over Iraq was allowed to print and issue new currency in 2003-2004 which is the currency we now hold

Nowsthetime: Monday Morning Wrap-up. Part 2

One week ago, I wrote a post which I called “Monday Morning Wrap-up.” As I had explained at the time, my sincere hope was that this was going to be a series consisting of only a single episode. OK, OK, I hear that snickering in the back row. No one needs to point out the obvious to me – we’re back to Monday and we’re still waiting, at least for awhile longer. I think that sometimes hope and anticipation may get a little out of synch trying to follow one another’s dance steps. And perhaps that’s the reason that the enthusiasm I noticed last week just feels a little dampened this morning.

BUT wait just a second. Hold your horses, or at least I need to get ahold of mine. I have recently spoken with proven reliable sources who continue to affirm that we are still in the best window ever for release of the RV. Let’s go back and review the checklist of RV chores that I’ve written about in the past. If we do that, we’re still looking pretty damn good.

I pray and hope, for us to see the National Meeting for Reconciliation and Unification finally held towards the end of the coming week, thereafter , rapid movement towards announcement of the completion of the GOI, in time for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr ( Sunday-Thursday ).....
With all the sense of urgency manifested lately by all parties.......IMHO A perfect setting for the RV !

Well SB...I could not agree with you more. However, there has been a sense of urgency for the last three going on four years that I'm aware of. The only time I saw that sense of urgency stop was when I quit looking at it. May you be the one that hits the nail on the head.

Your observations/ comments regarding " sense of urgency " is spot on..... the key word IMHO this time around is " all parties " ( or maybe almost all parties)and also the number of articles portraying batteries of meetings to actually pass innumerable relevant laws despite many being on" vacations " and the country in the midst religious holidays. ( we have seen this before too)...hehehe

Are any of you out there as physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted as I am. Wait, wait, wait . . . I probably shouldn’t have said that. Let me assume the answer is yes, then retract that statement so that you don’t start filling up my “reply box” with answers that we both already know.

I think that, up until recently, one of my problems was that I was always trying to see things in terms of “black and whites,” absolutes. Someone states an opinion which is then posted as fact by someone else. In my growing need for resolution (and relief), I take it as gospel, then proceed to call my personal banker saying, “No I realize I’ve been wrong 632 other times, but this time, please trust me because I just know it’s real.”

Then somewhere between that call and starting to put my house on the market and checking out that beachfront property, I get another message telling me again, “Not quite yet, but we’re getting close.” I don’ even bother calling my banker back anymore, since he already knows what I’m going to tell him. It’s embarrassing, it’s demoralizing, and it’s kept driving me closer each time to just throwing in the towel. But I didn’t, I’m definitely not going to, and you shouldn’t either.

The Bruised Soul of a Dinarian

Well its been two years since the word "dinar" was whispered into my ear by my father in law. He phoned me and told me of a grand investment that would change my stars, and excitedly talked about a country across the pond that was going to change the face of the world. He told me that for a couple of hundred dollars I would be able to transfer those into hundreds of thousands of dollars.

No Way!! I thought no-way no-how, brown cow. As he informed me of the the change of Iraq, the Goi, the ministers, the budget, the chaos, that was to me a changing nation returning to the world of economics, buying selling, trading, spending.

That was two years ago back in 2010 when all the chaos and craziness was going on and we expected to be rewarded. Forums were built, guru's made and destroyed as the information highway streamed the bits of info to us.

The power of the World Wide Web, nothing like back in the time of Kuwait. Back in that time things were hushed, people were hushed, the world was in darkness as the snail mail, and phone calls were all there was.

A Greenbrier update & more. Read all about it !

Two things of note:

(1) Dan's back in town and is supposed to be on the show tomorrow. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought he was originally planning to be gone for two weeks. I guess something's come up. Whatever it is, I seriously doubt it's because he couldn't stand to be away from Tony any longer. (Sorry Tony, sometimes the truth hurts, and it just can't be helped.)

(2) And finally, it has just been confirmed that the oh so important "business conference" that had all the rooms filled up at The Greenbrier, just finished up yesterday. You can now reserve all the rooms you and your family would like, even for today if you can't wait any longer.

Don't ya just feel like it's almost Christmas.(RV Christmas) You know how you say you're going to prepare early, You make a plan, and work that plan, but somehow
you usually still have to go out on Christmas Eve to get some last minute
thing you forgot. Then someone unexpected comes over to visit, so you are
wrapping a few more things late Christmas Eve.

And, whew, it's like you know Christmas is coming, you prepare for it, but somehow, time speeds up and it snowballs over you. Then, it's finally here, and it's wonderful. Well, that's kind of how it feels right now, we know it's coming, it's almost here, we've made a plan (which, for sure we will change a little) It's very exciting!!! It's the RV Eve!!!
We are almost there...hope we're all ready!!! (as we can be!!!)

P.S. Yes, I realize this is kind of "cornballie" but isn't that just how it feels today!!!
