Since Rafidain Bank borrowed on behalf of, and is owned by, the Government, these losses and the offsetting liabilities should be removed from the balance sheet. The calculation is complicated by a number of other issues, see below. It should be noted that preliminary data provided by Rafidain Bank differ slightly from that reported by the CBI.
