 *** Flashback ***

UPDATE:  No “flashback” today. But here is the quote of the day…

Rudaw: Will Maliki remaining in his post mean that the Kurdish attempt has failed?

Fuad Hussein: It is too early to say Maliki will remain in his post. Maliki might be replaced. I believe it is not a failure for the Kurds any way it turns out because the Kurds were able to form a large coalition against Maliki. The truth is, Maliki is now isolated and alone. So he has two options: to change his policy or be changed. It is the Kurds that are now on the strong side, not Maliki.

This pretty much confrims everything I have been saying for some time now.

Maliki announced the formation of his coalition before the 2010 elections

The source told the “squares of liberation” that “a number of independent MPs in the” state law “and arrived at the conviction that the content of the letter of Mr. Sadr, very seriously, and that the Sadrists, who swung the balance-Maliki as prime minister are now talking openly about the need to change, and that this view is no longer Sdria According within the National Alliance, but in line with other forces. ”
It is known that 3 MPs from the “state law” withdrew from it after naming the prime minister Nuri al-Maliki, who are Mr. Jaafar Mohammed Baqir al-Sadr, son of the founder of the Dawa Party and an inspiring spiritual, and who did not withdraw from the coalition and by, but resigned from his parliamentary protest against the way that moving the political process and the nature of the formation of institution of parliament and the government and the Presidency of the Republic, and MP Safia al-Suhail, which selected after its withdrawal from the “state law” to stay in parliament deputy independent, and MP Jawad Albzona who preferred to stay in the National Alliance independent deputies.

This is plainly confirming the formula I have been discussing for some time – there seems to be more than enough defectors in the National Alliance to have a successful “no confidence” vote against Maliki. It will be soon.

Prince Kanani: Meeting of the National Alliance will be held at eight o’clock in the evening at the home of al-Jaafari

Deputy for the Liberal parliamentary bloc that the meeting of the National Alliance will be held at eight o’clock this evening, Monday at the home of President Ibrahim al-Jaafari.

I wasn’t so concerned with what happened at this meeting – just that it was going on. A party meeting at the home of Jaafari without Maliki in attendance (or if he was no one would admit to it -which may be worse). They are clearly trying to figure out their party direction (without Maliki).

Sadr: We have figures of the National Alliance candidate to succeed if Maliki did not respond

Sadrists announced on Monday that the National Alliance will meet after the deadline set by its leader, Muqtada al-Sadr to start procedures for no-confidence in the government if the President did not respond to the demands of the nine, as he emphasized that the coalition figures “efficient” candidate to replace Maliki.

The MP said the block free of the stream Ali al-Tamimi said in an interview for “Alsumaria News”, “The National Alliance will hold a meeting to start procedures for no-confidence in Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki if we did not find a response from it according to the deadline set by the cleric Moqtada al-Sadr had not left of which only three days, “that is unlikely to extend the deadline. Tamimi said that “the National Alliance has a competent national figures can lead the country,”

Sadr is not playing around – this is looking very serious indeed.

National Alliance :There is no agreement that the post of prime minister to be invitation only.

They are basically saying the NA can choose someone other than Maliki or we will choose someone for you. There are plenty of other candidates!! What’s worse is – it’s their own guy talking about themselves!!

Kurds agree on alternative to Jaafari, Maliki

Kurdistan Region Presidency confirmed that the National Alliance is the decision-maker in the selection of an alternative candidate to the owners, and, while suggesting a lack of parking and the Kurds against the choice of substitute Ibrahim al-Jaafari, stressed that the president of the region convinced of the need “substituted for impossibility to work with him.”

The head of the Presidium of the province, Fouad Hussein in a newspaper interview that “the Iraqi political parties pending on 17 of this month as the date last resort given the meeting Quintet, which was held in Arbil to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki,” adding that “the Kurdish regional president Massoud Barzani to reach a conviction is impossible to work with the Maliki and the need to replaced. ”

And on the indicators twice the chances of survival of Maliki his job, said Chairman of the Presidium of the region that “the letter signed by leaders gathered in Erbil on 28 April, which was handed over to al-Maliki by a representative of Muqtada al-Sadr, gave Maliki fifteen days to change his policy and not Sagerho “.

The Kurds seem content with Jaafari – but as important, take note of Maliki’s reaction to the paper being delivered. This is another clue as to his “mind set”. I think he’s about gone off the “deep end” now…

Maliki and his opponents: peg critical deadlines to resolve disputes .. يطلق رصاص (خُلّب)!! Called lead (chelation)!

BAGHDAD / political editor told Orr

Since the announcement of the deadline two weeks before the Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to resolve his differences with everyone, and the results of the consultative meeting in Arbil, going in the Bodqp pots Almsttriqh the consensus of parliamentary, and sources familiar with the “ur”

The most prominent of these compromises, is the following: expansion of talk about the diagnosis of impeachment is not only to the President of the government, “al-Maliki” to include transactions of the three presidencies in accordance with the agreements of Arbil, compared asked Maliki to the idea of re-formation of the government under his leadership as a fundamental given the Sadrists objector some ministerial posts, most directly in the file services, including the Ministry of Electricity, which convey the threat of a deadline two weeks to peg objections actors, as is the case with statements from the Iraqi List, the threat to withdraw from the government, which ended the large number of threats to this Almhjb political weapons consumed, according to these sources.

Suggest these sources that is retrieved by President Jalal Talabani hold the lead again, especially since he did not sign the statement of the consultative meeting in Arbil, and published in the document the statement, contained signatures of Massoud Barzani, and Osama Najafi, and Iyad Allawi, and the signature and seal cleric Muqtada al- the chest.

And on the next step, you find these sources that Talabani could summon the positions again, and re-raised, including his well-known intelligent politician, especially since he was now on his way to announce a specific date for the meeting of the National in the last week of this month, after arranging a working paper put on the meeting of the three presidencies in the presence of Mahdt Mahmoud, head of the Supreme Judicial Council, However, these sources say that the lack of success of this meeting to intercept any of the parties on a sheet of a final settlement that will put Talabani meant his withdrawal from the negotiations and the possibility of returning to Salmanah or travel for treatment in one of European cities, and leave all options open in the conflict may end in the parliament in any direction in which predominantly Almtsaron power, either to dissolve parliament and hold early elections, or to dissolve the government and the formation of a new government.

On the other hand, indicated the sources to reject the offices of the religious political conference to resolve differences in Najaf, and reported their position to political parties concerned that it is not against the resolution of differences between Iraqi factions, but they resolved away from the place of spiritual Najaf Najaf, the fact that non-compliance is expected from any party was, what will be agreed upon in Najaf, it can be detrimental to its spiritual at all Muslims.

And Takeda for the information, “Ur,” said Bloc coalition of state law Tuesday that a meeting of the National Alliance, which was held to an hour late last night has not formulated a common vision on paper Arbil second while confirming that the National Alliance adheres to the convening of the national meeting, which called him President Jalal Talabani.

A member of the coalition Samira al-Moussawi told (UR) that “the meeting of the National Alliance was not made yesterday to see on the second sheet of Arbil, but stressed the need to hold the coalition national meeting.”

And al-Moussawi said that “the resolution of political differences is not by setting time limits and that the parties set a time limit has not developed a vision of post-time limit.”

And gave the four political leaders are Massoud Barzani and Moqtada al-Sadr and Iyad Allawi and Osama al-Maliki on Thursday 15 a day to implement the decisions of Arbil. Spin and political differences between the three main menus in the political process centered on the state administration and application of the Constitution.

On the other hand revealed the Kurdistan Region Presidency, that the letter sent to the National Alliance on meeting the five-home to the region’s president Massoud Barzani, the end of last April, provided to inform the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to change his policies towards the political parties, or change itself.

This is a long and somewhat convoluted esplanation (in this article)…however – it is pretty much confirming (again) what I was saying I thought might happen. I said it appears as though Talibani is preparing to head into the National Conference without a PM (post “no confidence” vote) - they will pick – it will likely be Jaafari. However, I believe they will handle everything else all at once so there won’t be any more “political trickery” – all the Ministers, the Erbil and article 140 agreed to…all at once.

Here’s an interesting headline…

Met with President Jalal Talabani said on Monday a delegation from the State of Law coalition headed by Sheikh Khalid al-Attiya

While Talibani was meeting with everyone else – it does say he “received” this delegation…but that is all. No mention of anything getting done. NADA – zip.

*** Rumor Comments ***

Rumor – The rumor was out last nite that the RV happened at 8:30pm and was live on bank screens at 17.00.

Well – here we are today – no 17.00. Debunked!!

Rumor – There was a “no confidence” vote last Saturday. Maliki only received 40 votes and threw a fit – having to be escorted out.

Once the vote happens – you will see it on Fox News. It will be BIG. Though I doubt Maliki gets more than 40 votes and I bet he will throw a fit – but not just yet. Debunked!!

If you find a crazy rumor or have a question about something you’ve heard – bring it to one of the Mods over at www.dinarupdates.com and we’ll use it here. Thanks!!
