Folks – this is exactly as I have said all along. Maliki and Jaafari had Hakim be their emmissary thinking it would garner his support. It has not. This only further leads me to think that once an actual vote starts Hakim and the SIIC will likely vote against Maliki – though they say they don’t want to. I have said numerous times to keep an eye on this guy and this is what I was thinking would happen – here’s your sign. The NA will be so surprised at how this turns out. ;)
Allawi: withdraw confidence from the al-Maliki in a month
Twilight News/ expect the existing Iraqi President Iyad Allawi that the process of withdrawal of confidence from Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in less than a month, accusing al-Maliki to power and exclusivity violations by constitutional and human rights abuses.
Allawi said in an interview with Al Rai Kuwait, seen by the “Twilight News”, “no-confidence (of Nuri al-Maliki) is constant, due to the fact that the Parliament will resume its sessions (…), has formed a political committee for providing the requirements of interrogation al-Maliki and the withdrawal of confidence from the his government, but the process requires a period of time ranging between three weeks and a month since the start of the preparation, route the message, questioning and decision-making. ”

Urgent .. House of Representatives held an emergency session in Erbil of 174 deputies to withdraw confidence from the al-Maliki Tuesday

Said a source familiar with the outskirts of Arbil that is preparing to hold an emergency session of parliament in Arbil, to be safe from the impact of the opposition blocs to the issue of withdrawal of confidence from the Prime Minister seeking to adjourn the meeting at a time in order to delay the subject and diluted.
The source added that “the parliamentary session scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, manipulate the outskirts of Arbil to pass laws had been crippled by a coalition of state law for several months in a move of them to make as much of the achievements will count them,” adding that “representatives from the outskirts of Erbil (Kurdistan Alliance and Iraqi forces and the Sadrist movement ) held secret meetings in Erbil, where two days ago, examined the current situation and ensure the insult that must be followed to achieve the desired end to withdraw confidence from the Prime Minister. ”
He stressed that “the outskirts of Arbil, I learned from some quarters that the coalition of state law will try to confuse by introducing the subject of withdrawal of confidence from Najafi in addition to the postponement of the hearings, what made her decide to hold an emergency meeting next Tuesday in Arbil under the chairmanship of the House of Representatives Osama Najafi and the presence of 174 deputies to vote to withdraw confidence from the al-Maliki. ”
The source expected to interfere with the Federal Court, after being requested to do so, in this regard to determine the constitutionality of a meeting of the Council of Representatives of the Federal Government outside the capital of Baghdad.

This is spectacular news!! Looks like we could have the session started in Arbil as early as Tuesday. If this happens without Maliki having done a deal – my take is…he is completely “porked”. There is no way he survives. I had alluded to the fact a Parliament session on Maliki could happen Thurs/Sat/Sun and then we hear about some outcome Monday or Tuesday – but Tuesday is fine. I don’t mind being off a day or two here and there ;)

Maliki is so full of baloney!! This is the deal I had told you had been offered to Allawi some time ago – it wasn’t a “gesture of good will” – it was a “Hail Mary” to save his own @xx. Allawi said he would accept the original deal – however, it didn’t have him pitted against the Kurds back then. Further – Allawi is rightfully skeptical. This is merely part of the deal Maliki agreed to – getting him his job. C’MON MAAAANN!!
However, if Maliki’s special envoy to Barzani makes him happy and Allawi takes this deal – Maliki is half-way home (don’t hold your breath though ;) )
