The  King and His Four Wives

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives

a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

b. Our 3rd wife ?  Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.

c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.

Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament

WOW! This is powerful and so true. And yes, just when do we think about our soul. We all know we have one, we all know the body stays on Earth but the soul descents. So why do we not take better care of our soul. the soul is what will be standing before our God. I, for one, will take this story to heart and start 'cultivating' my soul so it can be proud when God calls me home.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. Happy Memorial Day and God bless our troops.

Beautiful story...thank you. I will share it often. I have a little correction; to highfive-I believe our spirit/soul actually "ascends". Hopefully not "decends". :))

A perfect time in my life to make sure I place the proper importance on what is really matters in the overall scheme of life. We are taught the correct order of our spiritual life but we seem to get it backwards

The Bible says what good is it if a man gains the whole world but loses his soul. Love one another as Christ loved you. Be as the good Samaritian. Live John 3:16 Your ticket to ascend at death.

I totally agree with all the wives & our lives..I have since recovered my
True Friend, Jesus Christ; in the Past three years & DO attend Mass
every Sunday....It was my only alternative after my 15 y.o., wife, I
learned wasn't 24 but 14, when we met & searching my soul and
talking to Christ has been my Only Salvation after she cleaned me
out in a Divorce 5 years ago....I am so cognizant of that inner voice
we so often ignore, or just don't; "pay any attention to"

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. If we've been born again and whether we follow him to our graves or are called in the rapture we will ascend. Thanks.

I would like to share an experience I had years ago with everyone here. While on the operating table I died during surgery. I know what happens when we die. Before I do share what I call "My Experience" I would ask the person who started this thread for his/her permission to share my story here. If it's ok with you I will share "My Experience" here with you and all.

"My Experience"

I would like to share an experience I had with you. While I was having surgery, I died on the operating table. I know exactly what happens when we die, and I know why. If you would like to know what happens when we die please continue reading. We all have heard that all things happen for a reason even if the reason isn't immediately apparent.

I was about to undergo shoulder surgery. I've had surgeries before and after but this is the only time this has happened. It started out as normally as any operation can. Now, I have to tell you that as a baseball/softball all my life, I have many aches and pains, stiffness, soreness, arthritis in both knees, etc. This is a constant and doesn't change.

Once I was prepped and taken into the OR, I was placed on the table and the doctor explained (again) what he was going to do and asked if I still wanted to go through with it. I said yes and the operation began.

A short time later, I started hearing things and started wondering what was going on. I felt really strange and as if I was floating. I looked around and could see that my body was now below me. As you can probably imagine, I started to panic. I started screaming, "Move, Move, Move, trying to get my arms, or legs, or anything to move. At the same time I heard an alarm and started seeing people and equipment come flying in from all directions. It was then that I realized that I must be dead. It was also then that I noticed that I had absolutely NO pain whatsoever. I can't even begin to explain how good I felt.

Now when you leave your body, you can see all your relatives and friends and you know what they were doing when you died. Also, your body continues to rise. First you're above the table and your body. Next you're out of the room, and then out of the hospital. It is such a wonderful feeling to be free from pain and also to be able to "fly" for lack of a better term.

As you have heard before, there is a light to guide you. I'll wait a minute to tell you just what the light is. As you head towards the light, you will see what I have always called "bubbles" which are really windows into your life. You can look in as many as you like, or you can look in as few as you like. Once you decide you have seen enough, and that you want to go to the light, you're there.

What I saw at first were what looked like statues. When I got closer, I could see that they were my family members that had gone before me. I saw relatives I didn't even know I had, but they knew who I was and yes, I knew who they were. Oh what a wonderful feeling to see the people you knew and loved and to see them without pain. The last memories we have of our family members is of them sick, and dying, or of how they died instead of happier memories. It was so good to be able to hear their voices and see their faces. I want to tell you all that they were all between 30 - 33 years old. Although I would have happily stayed there forever, they told me that I had to continue my journey.

Again, there was the light ahead of me. I said, I want to go now and there I was standing in front of the light. For me to try and tell you how bright, and how dazzling this light was, I couldn't even begin to. But, as bright, white, dazzling, and vibrant as this light was, it didn't hurt my eyes in the least. It felt good on my eyes to be honest.

As I stood in amazement in front of this light, it began to move. I saw two hands reach up and pull down what looked like a hood. The figure turned around and in my shock I said, "Jesus Christ". (Earlier, I said I would explain what the "Light" was, The Light is Light of The Transfigured Christ. You don't realize it until He reveals himself. Remember, Jesus said, "I am the Light, I am the Way. No one comes to my Father except through me.") At that, I fell to the ground and started kissing Jesus' feet saying, "Forgive me Father for I have sinned." Jesus said, "Rise my son, your sins have been forgiven because of your faith." He bent down and grabbed me under my arm to help me up. I said, "My Lord, I am not worthy to stand in your presence." He grabbed me under my other arm to help me up, but I grabbed him by the waist and stayed on my knees. He reached under my chin to raise my head and at the same time He put His hand on my head, and said, "Michael my son, it is not yet your time." Everything went black and the next thing I heard was "NO, don't move it, it's in a sling!" I opened my eyes and was back in the recovery room. I both elated and depressed because I now had all the aches and pains I used to have. Oh if you're wondering what color Jesus' eyes are, they're blue.

Earlier I said that things happen sometimes and we don't know why. Here's why I was given this gift.

For years after this happened, I kept it to myself and wouldn't tell anybody because I was afraid people would think I was crazy. Until one morning I got a phone call from my mo

PART TWO OF MIKE'S STORY

In reply to MIKE -- this was a beautiful story - thanks a..., Mike Zanni said:
Sorry my Friend, there must be a character counter somewhere. Here is the rest of "My Experience".

For years after this happened, I kept it to myself and wouldn't tell anybody because I was afraid people would think I was crazy. Until one morning I got a phone call from my mom telling me that my youngest brother had committed suicide. Until that happened, I never realized what my experience meant and what I was supposed to do with it. For the first time I explained just what I explained to you to my own family to help them cope with death and with what happens afterwards. It helped give them Peace.

The other lesson I learned is that Jesus will forgive anyone who really, truly, and honestly believes in Him. Anyone that wants to go to Heaven can as long as they ask for forgiveness and they believe in the Love of Christ. Jesus is the embodiment of Love. He is Love personified. He IS love. The peace of Christ that you hear about comes from knowing that there is life after death and that your sins will be forgiven.

On the day that Jesus died, He was crucified along with two others who admitted they deserved to die. While He was dying on the cross, one of the other two started harassing Jesus saying things like, "If You really are the Son of God, why don't You save Yourself?" Also, "Why don't You call down a legion of Angels to take You down from the cross?" And all the while mocking Him. After hearing this, the second prisoner said to the first, "Why do you mock Him so?" "He has done nothing wrong." "He doesn't belong here, while we deserve to die."

At that, the second prisoner looked toward Jesus, and said, "My Lord, please remember me when you come into Your Kingdom." Jesus replied, "My Son, I assure you that this very day you will join me in Paradise and take your seat at My Fathers' table which I have prepared for you." Surely, as Jesus has offered His Saving Grace to someone who admits he deserved to die for his sins, then just as surely, Jesus will give <Name> His Saving Grace as well. <Name> will sit at his/her seat at The Table of Our Lord with Jesus and all your family members who have gone to their rest. <Name> will be at Peace with God, and Jesus, and will be with all your family members waiting in Joyful Hope to be with everyone here once again.

I hope this helps you find peace and eases your suffering.

God Bless You. May the Peace of the Lord be with you always.

My prayer is that all of this dinarian group will "ascend" Just the same as with the RV, if one waits too long to take part, they could miss out. Our time to decide for eternity is now, on this side of it. Way too many scriptures to list here, but they are all in the WORD for anybody to get the message. Thanks for the reminder to keep what is really important in the forefront.

There is a "KING of kings" and his name is Jesus Christ. His WIFE is the church he is coming soon to take to a sinless heaven! ~ ~ ~

This story of the King and his 4 wives is a very interesting & entertaining teaching on the surface, yet reaching to the idea of the QUALITY OF LOVE LIVED OUT IN THIS LIFE.

But better to know HOW to go to one's deathbed NOW then to lament when you are upon it! You're not going to lament after!!!

The thing is, and this is a tough one for many; the Bible Truth is that no one goes to heaven OR to hell when they die! Wow! You are saying that I can't be right! Well, I am not speaking my own words. I am speaking the Words of the Holy Scriptures. (KJV)

There is no such thing as the soul going on after death! LIFE after death experiences are wholly false experiences which false spirits imbibe into a passive being (an injured or quited comatos mind and stilled body.)

When one "passes away," or "goes to their rest" or "goes to sleep"--- the soul, the CHARACTER, is recorded by GOD. The "spirit" of the person OR SOUL, is the "breath of life" and it goes back to God and the flesh or body "returns to the dust."

"Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. THEN shall the DUST return to the earth as it was: and THE SPIRIT ("THE BREATH OF LIFE" Gen 2:7) shall return unto God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:6-7

Jesus himself shows us plainly that DEATH is but a SLEEP by the resurrection of Lazarus and of himself later on. "These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead." John 11:11-14

So the BIBLE TRUTH is that WHEN one DIES "...the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory (mind) of them is forgotten (so they can not hear you!). Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun." Ec 9:5,6.

There are 100's of verses in the Scriptures that when you put them ALL together it becomes clear that there is a Judgment, and it is AFTER the Judgment of "the dead" that there is RESURRECTION. And there are at least two main RESURRECTIONS, one for "THEY that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and (one for) THEY that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." Jo 5:29.

Christ spoke much about "redeeming the time,"--- "for the DAYS are evil." DAYS meaning, the days that you will LIVE out on a planet that is fallen to sin. "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil DAYS come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them." "Ecclesiastes 12:1

TO THE CHRISTIAN BELIEVER IN THE WORDS OF HOLY WRIT --- GOD GIVETH MORE GRACE! GRACE IS WHAT SUSTAINS THE LIFE IN THE CHANNELS OF GOD'S LOVE until one perishes---or returns to the dust and DIES.

When one returns to the dust, it is a mini version of Creaton in reverse. "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7

So...this "fable" of the King and his 4 wives is teaching the exact opposite of the truth of God's Word! YOUR SOUL is your character, your person! Give it to GODS GRACE NOW while you are living. Later is too late, for the soul is NOT "immortal."

Only One has immortality RIGHT NOW---that is, JESUS the CHRIST.

"Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and ONLY Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; WHO ONLY HATH IMMORTALITY... AMEN" 1 Timothy 6:15-16.

The SOUL is NOT immortal until after the RESURRECTION! Thus IMMORTALITY is something that is PUT ON after one dies and is raised!

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (in the grave or dust of the earth), but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead (in Christ) shall be raised incorruptible, and WE SHALL BE CHANGED. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and THIS MORTAL MUST PUT ON IMMORTALITY. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and THIS MORTAL SHALL HAVE PUT ON IMMORTALITY, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law." 1 Corinthians 15:51-56.

The reason Christianity is so unique is because CHRIST OVERCAME DEATH, that is, because of his unique position as Creator, as our Sacrifice, he alone could RETURN FROM THE DUST, thus setting the stage for the resurrection later of h
