In case you missed it, Kaperoni took a look at the actual transcript from last weekends World Bank, IMF conference held in Washington. In Attendance was Dr. Al-Shabibi, Governer of the Central Bank of Iraq. This transcript is about as accurate "intel" as you will get pertaining the developments of the rebuilding of the Iraqi financial sector.
Kaperoni did a great job in his analysis and determined that there are several "key" pieces of information we can gain from this transcript.
1. The financial banking reforms are moving forward despite the continued political issues on-going in Iraq.
2. The World Bank and IMF stated... "political intervention should stop" allowing.. "the CBI perform its tasks without interference,”
3.The World Bank and IMF acknowledge the need to "accelerate" the transition to a market economy.
4. A new Iraqi "Securities Law" needs to be adopted quickly, which will permit the public relations and securities markets. (This appears to be a key hold up before the RV can actually take place.
