_[BGG] I found this most interesting - a clip from an article released today. "Regarding the claim of some blocks for the withdrawal of confidence in Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said that this is infallible has not been raised with the Kurdistan Alliance formally, until now".
[BGG] Soon is what I have heard on the NC Meeting. There are huge amounts of rhetoric in the media lately (which is posturing and "communication" between parties) - they were given a week to get a meeting set (on Friday - I think). We'll see.
[BGG] Could even be sooner though - there is word out that Maliki may give "concessions" to maintain some postition - which is what he should have done a lnong time ago.
[BGG] I'm still encouraged - I said last week the tidal wave of rhetoric would ramp up thru Sunday and that we should hear some real news by Monday-Tuesday. Here we are.

[plainsman] rileyjones BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish Alliance MP Mahmoud Othman announced today that "there is no official initiative for Barzani's call to have a meeting for political blocs in Arbil". Othman told Aswat al-Iraq that the call of President Masoud Barzani to have a meeting for the political blocs was just press statement, but no official call was given till now.
He added that Barzani is still abroad and wanted to support the initiative of President Jalal Talabani which called for a National Conference. Barzani stated that he will call for an urgent meeting in Arbil after his return to Iraq.
He added that if Premier Nouri al-Maliki refused to attend or did not reply positively, "we will reject him as head of the Iraqi government", according to the reports.

[BGG] There seems to be a real coalition to support this kind of rhetoric. Maliki should be pretty worried right now. Evade political capture now and worry about the Iranian "hit squads" later. That's what I say.
[rileyjones] plainsman Where is Barzani now?
[plainsman] rileyjones not sure
[plainsman] rileyjones no. just googled "Barzani" in NEWA search and that was one of the articles that surfaced
[rileyjones] I saw an article on there that I would like to read Maliki discusses expediting projects implementation 4/16/2012 4:21 PM
[BGG] Barzani is back - that was a few days old.
[plainsman] BGG sorry. thought it was current...
[BGG] plainsman - No problem - better for us. He's back and ready for a meeting.

[OfCourse13] 2012-04-16 BAGHDAD (Iba) .. The Iraqi List, has expressed grave concern about what he described as the escalation of the Prime Minister's attempts to control the central bank, which is of independent bodies associated with the House of Representatives, which fortified the Constitution and the law of any government intervention. http://translate.google. ··· ndex.php
[OfCourse13] BGG, do you know if that Maliki trying to run the CBI stuff is over or not? Is that article ongoing or smoke?
[BGG] OfCourse13 - That was the plan - he left for Switzerland last week. He can push the button from the moon - if need be.
[BGG] OfCourse13 - key word regarding Maliki and the CBI - "attempts". He's been at this for a while now - this is just the most public shot he's taken at them.
[BGG] I really think that and the Election Commission BS are the biggies that will be his undoing.
[OfCourse13] "his undoing" is music to my ears! Sure hope they figure out how to get him either under control or out - soon. (Sorry for the dirty 4 letter word.)

[OfCourse13] Silawi: the need to resolve the political crisis as it began to widen Silawi: the need to resolve the political crisis as it began to widen Sun 04/15/2012 8:27 Baghdad (news) .. called MP / National Alliance / table Silawi, leaders of political blocs to speed up the scheduling of a national conference, stressing the need to resolve the crisis, according to the Constitution.
The Silawi (of the Agency news): it has become necessary to determine the leaders of political blocs date for a national conference, to resolve the political crisis, which began expanding because of the size differences between the blocks.
She added that Iraq is on the verge of playing a major role in the region and needs to filter internal political differences, to exercise its regional role correctly, noting that the crisis can be resolved in accordance with the Constitution. According to the National Alliance MP: that the continuation of the political crisis will impact heavily on other aspects of economic, service, and even the security being linked to one another.
This failed and the Preparatory Committee of the National Congress several times to reach a date for the conference, also failed to prepare the agenda of the Conference. / End / 33. For. M http://translate.google. ··· _id%3D14

[BGG] Now we're gettin' the kind of political noise we needed yesterday (so I missed it by one day - it was pure research based speculation on my part) - this is what will drive the NC Meeting. Sadr is not playing around - he's pissed. Nothing like having a "crusader" on your back like Sadr!! lol
[BGG] Of course, how ***** was it to give a guy like Sadr something to "crusade" about??? Duh???
[OfCourse13] LOL BGG, my thoughts exactly!
[BGG] Or - the NC Meeting was planned for tomorrow all along and Sadr jumped in with a few parting PR shots just for good measure. Which is his MO. lol
