BGG] Twilight News / A leading figure in the Kurdistan Alliance, on Monday, that the leader of the Supreme Council Ammar al-Hakim will join during the next few hours to a meeting in Erbil to discuss the current crisis, while pointing out that the U.S. administration announced its support for the decisions of the five leaders condition their compliance with the Constitution.
[BGG] Uh Oh - you do recall me saying if Hakim showed up - it was the "death knell" for Maliki... Uhhhhh - he's there for this one. ;)
BGG] tampadinar - He's a monster "swing vote" within Maliki's own party.
[BGG] He and Sadr represent a sizable chunk of Maliki coalition. With them gone - much of his own party is voting against him.
[BGG] "Najafi said that the President received a request to send a message to ask the House of Representatives to withdraw confidence from the government, pointing to being subjected to great pressure not to send them".
[tampadinar] her's hopin. I wonder how much Maliki is able to scare the MPs into not daring to vote against him
[BGG] It appears Najafi is saying Talibani has already received the message to send the request on to the House.

[BGG] It also appears Talibani is under great pressure not to do this - however, it appears he will have no choice shortly.
[BGG] U.S. administration announced its support for the decisions of the five leaders..... I said this over a week ago too!! Huh??
[BGG] Matter of fact - the US was headed this direction last December, they are just having to make it official and not "hedge bets" anymore...
[BGG] The meeting of the National Alliance was a bust (they wiffed - NADA). However, Hakim is in Erbil RIGHT NOW for the next meeting of the Erbil 5 (now the Erbil 6 or 7). Talibani has already gotten or will be getting the message shortly to request a "no confidence vote" of the Parliament. Today or tomorrow. The Maliki reign of terror is about over.
[BGG] newshound - the National Alliance meeting was held - but it was a waste of time.
[newshound] BGG ok, making sure I understood. tks
[BGG] Not to be confused with the National Conference or National Council.
