Sale of treasury transfers and central to control the levels of liquidity
[tlm724] I asked Shredd about this art earlier and asked if this was the tranche he was looking for, Shredd would like to share your answer ?
[Shredd] sure - These transfers are really zero coupon bonds in nature but are made out of an existing bond and can be drawn from. This is not the bonds mentioned from last December because they are for internal deficit purposes.
[tlm724] so they are actually creating liquidity for the CBI ?
[Shredd] sort of, more for providing needed capital

[Shredd] my reference to the zero coupon bond is these are really more like utility rather than investment vehicles
[Shredd] but gains are still possible for the lender
[Shredd] bonds on the other hand, "normal" bonds that is, are typically long term at fixed interest rates
[Shredd] zero coupon are short term with no rates
[BondLady] Shredd I recieved a email from a friend an he asked me to ask u.... Has Shredd or anyone you know been able to comment on these stories @Iraq bonds about to be sold by American banks -- Chicago specifically??
[Shredd] I have not seen anything internally yet
[Shredd] not to say that is not true but they have not closed yet
[Shredd] additionally, these bonds will likely be fully funded (invested) on day one rather than being "sold" via banks which implies anyone can invest, individuals would only be able to invest via a fund conduit
[Shredd] and that would only apply if the investment house is cool with it based on their own diversification and risk tolerance requirements
[Shredd] so, timmy..... for that article....
[Shredd] it's really a good peek into the depth of the cbi's capital plan
[Shredd] seriously, these types of bonds hedge and provide liquidity on a shorter as-needed basis
[Shredd] while not being locked into an untappable bond, we manage these types of bonds all the time
[tlm724] Shredd what I had read was from the BIS Basel Committee and this liquidity is part of Basel III compliance, whether it be short term or long
[Shredd] agreed, the central bank needs access to capital
[tlm724] so I was excited to see this "capital plan " from the CBI
[Shredd] what's really cool about these types of bonds is the lender has an even greater faith in the borrower than other bond structures since no interest being paid
Agreement Erbil, Baghdad and Ankara on the export of oil will bring profits for all
[BondLady] talkin about how so much money could be made if they could agree more on oil an gas
[lightingcslt] BondLady well not to mention the 6 billion a month its costing them without a budget
[BondLady] and called for a return to the government to be adjusted by about guarantees the rights of all people to facilitate the approval as soon as possible.
[BondLady] pretty good stuff !
