BWM: There are defining moments in life... when children take their first steps, your son's first soccer goal, sweet 16 for your daughter, reciting your wedding vows, standing bedside when your first child is born, or standing bedside when a parent passes. Each of these and so many others dictate joy, laughter, sadness and sometimes bitterness in our lives. Christmas is a season that tends to bring about memories of a year or years past and all the memories that come with those thoughts. This has been a difficult year for myself as I know it has for many others. Daily reminders of dreams that are unfulfilled due to lack of financial ability or concerns over provisions for family needs or desires are pitting us against ourselves for positive answers.
BWM: Daily you are bombarded with statements about "it has to happen by"... has to happen because the numbers are in Iraq's 2013 budget. Heard this last year. How many years has the U.S. gone without a budget? Some want to base their "date" on annual reports that begin reporting in March of 2013 which lead them back to December 31st. These are called "quarterly" reports and nothing out of the norm. Then there's the infamous ISX is opening for business and they can't trade toilet paper...

Well let's back some things up, first, budget http://www.rudaw.net/english/news/iraq/4478.html
(2011) then the ISX, http://www.baghdadinvest.com/Iraq_Stock_Exchange_ISX.html
as you can see they have been "trading" since 2004 (per their site) this page also offers you some informative background on the ISX operations and supposedly operating under budgets the last two years at least.
BWM: So what are we to believe about the "reports"...again there are two things that need to be looked at here in order to completely understand what your expectations are. This is two different issues at hand, first, Iraq. We consider the fact that their monetary rise in the value of their currency will automatically make the citizens rich... remember, this isn't going to affect them in the same manner as us cashing in dinar for dollars. They will see a rise in the "BUYING POWER" of the dinar... this is important because it's similar to what many would attempt to sell you with the introduction of the UST note to the United States.
BWM: If there is a change in the value of a currency then obviously there will be a price structure in the pricing of items. Think of it this way, if we all lived in a small town and had net worth's worth say, a million, what would you have to pay the paperboy or the bagger at the grocery store to continue doing their jobs? How much would a gallon of milk be worth? Why the discussions from the mint about removing pennies, nickels and even dimes from the currency process? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here about the value of their currency changing based on the amount of the rise in the buying power of the dinar...
BWM: The reason I decided to back up that second statement with links is simple. As many things as I could find that say things were settled and done with, I could just as easily find articles that say nothing was ever accomplished... Christmas has come and gone and there are a number of ppl disappointed about nothing happening, again... You must continue to hold on to the idea that you feel you have made a good decision focusing on the positive things you will be able to accomplish... at some point. When is that point, well, the point has been we don't really know. And let me be brutally honest as usual in saying, the information that has come in from SOOO many sources does sound amazing... my problem is that when certain individuals start "prognosticating" based on that information I pretty much just move on in my mind... even if I feel really good about the information
BWM: Because tomorrow, regardless of this happening or not, I still have bills to pay, kids to feed and a wife that looks to me for some type of leadership in making the daily life work... we used to talk about the "what if's" and "what'd we do" and don't get me wrong, we still have conversations around the dinner table about what we hope to accomplish, let's face it, if you don't have dreams you have nothing to wake up for. But those dreams are not about what date the dinar hits they are about things we can try to do for others regardless of our circumstances. We have been truly blessed by a number of wonderful ppl in the dinar community and hope to one day pay it forward every chance we get. For the moment that might mean cleaning a house for an elderly person in need or making a dinner for someone who has lost someone near and dear to them or yes, eventually donating some money to a worthy cause or situation.
BWM: We spend a lot of time talking about faith, hope and believing. And I know that some are truly commited to maintaining a positive approach to this daily. Make sure our faith is in the right being, our hope is for what we can accomplish and we believe that because of our faith, our hope is in a brighter day tomorrow regardless of our circumstances.
BWM: If I wasn't disappearing into the pine trees once this hits there are stories well beyond your belief that could be told... as the cliche goes "if I didn't laugh at them I'd cry" is a daily discussion on phone calls about some of the things that get repeated as "intel" or "facts". You are witnessing the most elaborate, well-planned, flying-by-the-seat-of-your-pants, chaotic, mind-blowing, stupifying event in many lifetimes... they will create new academy awards, golden globe and emmy categories for some of the players in this "best dramatic interpretation of a country trying to pretend to screw up the world" ceremony... A new year is approaching, this is nothing new for a number of us... so make your resolutions and be prepared for when you receive the call. But most of all, prepare for tomorrow and have faith in God's will you wake up in the morning regardless... and go from there!
BWM: alright.. sorry so longwinded but having been closed the last couple of days and things having passed... I knew there would be the "what about" questions...
