Strategic agreement between Citizen Coalition and SLC to form Diwaniya local government
Diwaniya (AIN) -Inad al-Naeli, outgoing Deputy Chairman of Diwaniya Provincial Council, and nominee of Islamic Fadhila Party within the State of Law Coalition (SLC) stressed a presence of a strategic agreement between the SLC and the Citizen Coalition to form the local government of Diwaniya province.
Naeli said "This agreement does not mean marginalizing the winning slates but all will play vital role in forming the local government in all its departments," he pointed out.
"Consultative meetings will be held in Baghdad comprising heads of the coalitions and the political blocs to determine a new road map for distributing the positions according to the merits," Naeli added.
"The coming days will show important findings for these meetings," he concluded. /End/ LINK
Dr. Nan : So now it begins. Does this mean Mal-icky is forming alliances to stay in power?

OutOfTheWoods: Butilfdrm and I were talking about this and this info combined with the many articles we're seeing, we think this is just (another article) more confirmation that the Iraqi Govt is finally "power sharing", as they should have been doing all along.
Butilf tells me she read an article released a few days ago, wherein Maliki told his ministers to go out and make alliances..don't let this make you nervous, not everyone shares Maliki's agenda,
and also, who wants to follow his political lead on issues that will only end up serving his need for power-mongering,
they're going to act on implementing laws to quell the demonstrators and move the country forward, IMO. Remember, we still don't have Karbala elections/results.
Dr. Nan: Thanks, OOTW. I guess I am just so used to any alliances involving SLC being for Maliki's power grab. Weren't the Karbala figures in the election results that were released last Sarurday?
I didn't hear that. What could be the hold-up on that? I see the Kurds aren't voting until Sept. any word on the date for the Sunni provinces?
OutOfTheWoods:: The results were inconclusive for Karbala, also, the elections in Ninevah and Anbar were supposed to be held today, but were postponed again. The council members and heads of those regions are petitioning again for May 18 as the election date.
Now, I just went to study this Citizen Coalition and it's not listed anywhere, so I'm guessing it's new. Butifl thinks the Citizen Coalition is the same as "the party of five".
