mathrews says():Hello every one, I don't know why I'm saying this but today I just put down my faithful friend mini schnauzer. he was sick and no vet could put him at ease. So I let him pass threw the golden bridge to be waiting for me when my time comes. I hope there is more good news today to pull me out of this ruit im in. love you sammie.
rcookie says to mathrews():THIS WAS COMFORTING TO ME WITH SAME EXPERIENCE...
The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this — the last battle — can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close — we two — these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
jimplants says():i had a mini daschund as a puppy winnie fit in my pocket he was with me for 17 years died in my arms but he lived a great life
sagecanyon says(2:58 PM):Rcookie...that made me cry...I have lost so many good dogs over the years...they say if you have one really good dog in your lifetime (mostly talking about cowdogs...but all are family...co-workers and friends)....you should consider yourself lucky...I have had so many!
I have one old dog that is so crippled up from working so many years...but she is still eating and enjoying life...and happy...the time is coming soon...but not yet...she is pampered and spoiled...just like any old cowhand should be...they were all different...and they were all the very best! Thanks again Rcookie for your post

SRW says to DIGIman1():I have a picture on my wall, it says; If a dog thinks your're the greatest then don't seek a second opinoin. Sounds good to me..
wymutt says():Thanks RCookie for the poem. I had to put my 16 year old German Shepherd to sleep on Saturday. ... no more pain.
