Encouraging Patience : Post by Red Lily
I sent this to an anonymous concerned member. Tweaked it a little though LOL
I felt it may help many of you as well.
All we can hang on to is the fact that Kuwait went through the same thing Iraq is going through now but with fewer problems. Also the internet was not like it is today and we have better access to the information super highway..
With all of that being said.. No one can expect these people, who have been fighting each other for eons, and are mortal enemies, to ABRA CADABRA, BIP, BANG, BOOM, in 10 years or so, get along and be best buds... Much less AGREE on anything.

Could you imagine living under a dictatorship and all of the sudden YOU ARE FREE?
Especially Maliki. He was on one of Saddam Hussein's hit squads for heaven's sake.. He was a witness to how gruesome these people can be.. So he is wanting to hold on to as much power as he possibly can..
He probably helped kill some of these people's family members and now he is afraid to share power with the enemy for fear of his own life.
This is so much deeper than we think. These people do not trust each other.. and for good reason.
For them to be in the same room with each other, sitting at the same table, IS MOVEMENT FORWARD. Please never lose sight of that.
This is a very fragile process.. AND you can bet your sweet bippy that the US wants IRAQ to be an example to the rest of the world.. THIS WILL NOT FAIL..
However, it will take longer than WE, as FAST FOOD/DRIVE THROUGH Americans, and/or ones that have no clue what living under those circumstances, must be like.... we are a very impatient people and sometimes we lose sight of how good we have it.
Hang in there... Peace & Blessings, RED LILY
