OK, for what it is worth. Approximately a year ago there was an article posted on the forum from the Stars and Stripes Newspaper reporting on a new bank opening on a US military base in Baghdad. The bank did open for business however to my knowledge they never performed any cash transactions at that location although counters were in place which would lead one to believe that one day they had planned on being a full service bank. Yesterday I was at another location not too far from Camp Liberty and noticed the building had been relocated here, also there was a number of individuals scurrying around trying to put the place back into shape, this made me believe that it would be opened in the very near future. On another note there was an ATM machine installed when the bank was built however had always been covered so that it couldn't be used, yesterday the cover had been removed and individuals appeared to be doing some programing. To me this was an encouraging sight that we might be nearing the end of this ride.
