Hi Frank. Yesterday the Smart Card holders were paid their salaries and today the non Smart Card holders were supposedly paid.
From what budget were they paid and with what currency.
They have done such a great job of pulling in the 3 Zero notes. I just cant see them flooding the markets with billions of high denoms
Frank26: IMO ........ 2014 via Oil ..... Electronically. KTFA, Frank
Another Mailman: That makes sense for the Smart Card holders. Not sure how it applies for non Smart Card holders. Thanks
Alan: In the military your required to have direct deposit to get paid. If you don't then you don't get paid. Could the same go for iraq? Who knows...
Another Mailman: Could be, but, you would think that they still need physical currency somehow. I remember articles where the Kurdish banks were complaining of having zero dinar.
Aggiedad77: Good Morning Family,
Talk continues in the direction of what the Iraqi's in this article call "the law of one".(See Article Below) .....what they are referring to here is the HCL....the Oil and Gas Law......seeking to meld the desires of Baghdad with the concerns of Erbil into "one" and of course this makes the most sense....one common law that will dictate how oil and gas issues are dealt with in Iraq.....
Another show of unity for all Iraqis if they can make this happen.
I personally believe they are very close to agreement on the issues at hand, that after many years of no real negotiations we are seeing positive interactions between both groups and actual movement forward....the ball is indeed moving downfield. Aloha Randy
Frank26: THOSE and THESE that You speak of Randy are what I yesterday called :
"In a UNITED STATE."
One For and Of and By The ................ CITIZENS.
EVERYTHING is NOW being done for the ........... CITIZENS.
To a point ......... ONLY.
You are a Good annalist ! I Like reading Your post !!
Aloha Bratha !!! KTFA, Frank
Frank26: Dash/Isis is under control like a cancer.
They still need to be treated seriously with our weapons and intel.
I sense that they NOW want to play .......... Not fight so much. If they are sincere maybe they can come to a table to talk of peace and ......... Profits together. Time will tell.
Pray for our TROOPS !
RE: Aggiedad77 Post:
walkongstick :Bahr al-Ulum: there are directions to collect the oil wealth of laws and the law of one
Tomorrow Press / Baghdad: detection of oil and gas committee parliamentary member Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum, on Thursday, and the existence of political orientations collect oil wealth laws and the law of one of the advancing oil wealth management in an integrated manner.
Uloum said for "tomorrow's Press," The "in front of the government and the parliament, several related to the management of oil wealth laws must be approved, including oil and gas law and the law of the National Oil Company and the law regulating the oil ministry," noting that "there are political orientations collect all these laws and bring them under one law to ensure the activation of the oil wealth in earnest on the grounds that no law alone can not resolve all the outstanding issues. "
He added that "if we were able to collect all the special oil wealth laws and one law could contribute significantly in advancing the oil wealth management in an integrated manner from the government or the province," pointing out that "the current parliamentary session, which directed a review of all laws submitted to parliament the previous government, including the oil and gas law, which pull the current time to the government. "
Referred to the oil and gas law is still in the House of Representatives did not approve the inclusion of so far because of the many differences between around Baghdad and Erbil.
walkingstick » No Excuse for Excessive Holidays

A recent report from Al Monitor highlights the shocking number of official and unofficial holidays in Iraq, and the affect that this is having on commercial activity and education. But that’s just part of the picture.
Due to its plentiful oil reserves, many would consider Iraq to be an example of a rentier state, whose main function is to distribute the profits from exported natural resources.
It might sound like a good deal, but at current oil prices Iraq will have difficulty balancing its budget if it also wants to defeat the Islamic State and continue with its program of building houses and developing infrastructure.
Over-staffing in the public sector and excessively generous public holidays will not help the country achieve those objectives.
With the amount of work still to be done in Iraq, the abundance of its natural resources is no excuse for allowing its human resources to lie idle.
