Another update on Dr. Saleh's arrest this weekend at the Baghdad Airport......he is now stating that he intends to attend the second session of criminal court next month on charges against him.....so maybe this arrest was not from outdated information...but merely to get his attention.....Airport Security turned him over to the Integrity Committee of the Parliament who later released him.
Economy parliamentary downplays talk of counterfeit currency
Very similar to an earlier article regarding counterfeiting and the fact that that Economic Committee within Parliament believes that the CBI has things very much under control at this point in time.
Heads of political blocs meet tomorrow to discuss the inclusion of the budget in Tuesday's session
Speaker Najafi will hold a meeting on Monday with heads of political blocs to determine if the budget can be a part of the agenda....they can do that every day if they wish....but until the blocs can bring enough people to the table for a quorum it won't do any good.
Experts: Delete the zeros from the dinar increases its strength against the dollar and easy to draw a price policy
Financial experts are saying now that deletion of the 000's will actually cause the dinar to strengthen against the USD.....this article has been floated by the Iraqi news media at least twice in the last 2 weeks.....I find it incredible they continue to rehash the same information.....what does that tell us.....IMO......things are done....they can't find any other way to twist the truth.....so they just republish what they have already done......no the budget isn't done....but I am really starting to get Frank's point about watching what the CBI is saying and doing.....that is the critical point that we have arrived at now Family.....the CBI knows and fully understands what they are doing.....the GOI and the Kurds.....well they continue to wrestle....sinking lower and lower into the mud.
Kurdistan invites the international community to put pressure on Baghdad to end the policy of blockade and economic marginalization against him
Members of the Kurdistan blocs are now seeking assistance from international communities and religious leaders to put pressure against Baghdad to treat them like they are a part of Iraq....the Kurdistan citizens deserve to be treated like they are a part of Iraq and afforded all the benefits that the Iraqi Constitution allows.....they are stressing that Baghdad should not be using the pressure of employee salaries or the budget agains the Kurds in any way.....they are asking for the government to send their portion of the budget and salaries to the region.
Arbil demanding Maliki to stop "the policy of economic blockade" against her and calls for authorities and the UN to intervene
The Kurds are seeking relief from the "economic blockade that Baghdad is putting them up against by reaching out to the UN and to other outside sources asking that they intervene on behalf of the Kurdish people to put a stop to the unconstitutional actions that Baghdad has been taking.

According to the Governor of Karbala their government is looking towards government and private banks to provide lending funds to those who are poor and in need of housing....this is a humanitarian effort that may improve the social standing of these families that qualify....families with no housing will have priority in this program.
The recommendations of the government and the formation of a parliamentary supreme body of the banking reform
The Parliamentary Finance Committee recently embarked on a meeting with a number of managers in the banking sector as well as members of the CBI to discuss banking reform....now they have this bright idea of creating a body to oversee and control banking and finance such that it will be linked to the House of Representatives.....oh I smell a rat being cooked here...not a good smell either.....they have grand ideas....but I'm not looking for anything from them in the "near term"....hey Memphis...thanks for that phrase...of course this action will call for modern methods of banking principles and staying abreast of technological advances in the industry.....they are also looking for Basil III compliance.....all things said....no simple task.....but many banks have begun the journey to this end already......just learn from the example of others....be very wary of any political involvement in private industry sectors.
China willing to rehabilitate the infrastructure in Iraq
Maliki was able to get a number of agreements signed during his 2011 trip to China that would include areas of energy, agriculture, roads, railways, and trade....and the area of security where it pertains to fighting terrorism. The Foreign Minister of China has stated that they fully support Iraq's unity and independence as well as Iraq's battle against terrorism within their borders.....China of course is more than ready to help Iraq build their oil and gas production and infrastructure as well. Iraq is feeling good that they have the support of Beijing in the fight against terrorism....of course this could mean Chinese armaments for Iraq if they play their cards properly.
