Friday News Summaries and Commentaries
Another Friday in Iraq, their leader PM Abadi is still out of the country....speaking in Davos, Switzerland this afternoon at the economic summit....meanwhile he is seeking investors to enter Iraq.
Abadi and founder of the Davos forum discussing ways to enter international companies to invest in Iraq
PM Abadi in talking with the founder of the economic summit is telling him, look Iraq is a wealth country when you look at our resources....but yet we enter a financial crisis today....not the same as the alleged currency wars going on....but a crisis none the less.....
We need some heavy hitter types of investors that know their business and can come in and help turn things around for the Iraqis.....promising an Iraqi oil power house in the coming future.....if we can right our financial situation we have the capability of helping many other world nations in the process with what is planned.
PM Abadi has been speaking on the sidelines, which does not surprise me at all, so much goes on away from the speaker's podium in these meetings.....he's telling others about the Iraqi concerns with oil prices falling, the current state of their economy, and their security situations.....I can't help be wonder what else he might be talking about maybe in even tighter circles as he mingles in various places during the economic summit.
Snipers killed the most prominent organization Daash near the Mansouria in Diyala
In the Diyala Province, private security forces have managed to infiltrate into DAASH strongholds and have taken out terrorist snipers in an effort that precedes the launching of attacks on these strongholds to eliminate the presence of DAASH members....complete resolution of DAASH in the area is expected very soon.
Iraqi politicians work toward national consensus
Politicians showing signs of consensus.....don't laugh....I'm not talking about the US.....the Iraqi situation is starting from on top with all three Presidents....definitely a bonding that hasn't been there in many years is shaping form and conveying the same message to members of the COM as well as Parliament and we are seeing far less strife and arguing from these groups than ever before....
I have long said in my career that if the boss will act in the way he or she expects action from employees they will follow, they will attempt to mimic what they see as his or her actions....I believe this to be happening in Iraq as we speak....
Yes they still have security issues, they need to pass some laws and put the bowtie on the budget....but these things are coming together, in an orderly and compassionate fashion I choose to believe.....
We are seeing the evolving of a new and different Iraq....an Iraq that is truly seeking national consensus that is showing the world that a new leader emerges.....watch what happens next.
Parliamentary Finance: There are no political differences on the budget
Don't look at the glass as being half empty....see it for what it is....filling up...yes on the way up.....oil prices will rebound....Iraqi production and export of oil will be increased in 2015.....yes times are difficult today...but look out to the horizon....better times are coming.....ideas from a member of the Financial Committee....suggesting that all is not so negative....political differences with the budget are not a prominent thing at this point....looks like we are now expecting a vote on the budget sometime next week.
Iraq signs with Kuwaiti company a contract to build an airport in Diwaniya at a cost of $ 350 million
A new airport in Diwaniya for sure....but to me the more important event here is the coming together between Iraq and Kuwait for this project....even to the point of agreement on allowing the Kuwait company to manage the facility for 45 years.
US ready for the Liberation of Mosul, with the participation of two divisions of the Iraqi army
Two Iraqi divisions are being trained...what for you ask....a massive assault on Mosul that is expected to be mounted this coming summer.....what I don't understand is the continued compelling need to telegraph our troop movements and actions to the enemy well in advance of any proposed actions...this to me is ludicrous....the media needs to keep its nose out of the military operation....this can cost the lives of innocent men and women....IMO.
Well a short list of news for the morning.....will be watching for other things as they roll down the pike today....enjoy.
