Monday News Summaries and Commentaries
As we start to look at the news I just want to take a moment and clap Purifiers on the back for a couple of wonderful posts overnight, if you haven't read them I urge you to do so....first post 38 then post 56 what a wonderful analogy of this long line process.....
Also in detail here -- LINK
Purifiers did an excellent job of laying out this whole "line" process and what it means to us.....BRAVO Brother.....thanks for the effort.
The Supreme Committee for the reform of the ration card looking at ways to implement the new system Supply
Through the COM and its committee work there has been reforms in process that would provide a new look to the ration cards and how they would be implemented.....
the new system would take into account new and up to date logistical systems that would provide greater flexibility within the process.....
this new process would be kicked off in 2016 and is expected to run for 5 years.....a long time for such a process, hoping it proves successful, meanwhile an evaluation would be forthcoming in 3 years to see where things stand.....this should be very good long range planning on the Iraqis part.
Parliamentary Energy: We will press the government in the coming period to send the legislation to the oil law
Let me open this up with a short preface......keep in mind that most of the time when the Iraqis talk of "the government" they are referring to the Council of Ministers (COM) which includes PM Abadi, the Secretariat General and Ministerial heads.....
in this case the Energy Committee within Parliament is wanting to push the COM to bring the oil and gas law to Parliament so it may be read and voted upon....
the committee is expressing a keen interest in working with diligence on the oil and gas law if they had it in their hands....they recognize the importance and magnitude of the law.
Iraq announces enter the "F-16" into its territory
Get your guns.....the F-16's are finally arriving so the Iraqis say.....four at least have reached a base within Iraq with pilots trained in the US since 2012.
"Obelisk" explore "Start your transaction from your home" .. that eliminates red tape and shorten the time
Duct tape, gorilla tape, red tape....your choice.....but red tape seems to be melting away in Iraq today.....they finally appear to be getting things like e-government programs kicked off and are able to offer their citizens some choices in how they can take care of at least some business from the comfort of one's home or maybe the hookah bar....or Starbucks.....
they are working on a new slogan "Your Government serving you"......hmmmm....much work has gone into this project and the Iraqis are hoping for great success that will catapult them into the electronic age in a big way.
Parliamentary Finance: You can not reduce the salaries of officials, but under the law
PM Abadi wants to reduce salaries of officials...this comes in a year of austerity programs that abound in Iraq and include the three Presidencies cutting their own salaries as a good first move gesture.....let's play follow the leader for a number of other officials as well.
Iraq will cut its oil production in August
Iraq is saying expect to see oil exports cut some in August....it seems they have ships sitting offshore just waiting for oil.....they are trying to minimize this wait time....
some of which pertains to the heavy crude that Iraq is now splitting out and selling as a separate product and not everyone wants that heavier crude because of its potential for impurities.....
what they need is some renovated shipping facilities that could handle more ships in a faster more expedient process.....modernization in other words.
Abadi confirms that the good news of victory for the Liberation of Anbar Stzv soon
PM Abadi points to the Iraqi Army, the police force, the popular crowd along with the Sunni tribesmen and says that success will soon be coming to Anbar....these groups with their combined efforts will be dealing with DAASH and their strongholds in Anbar, specifically in Fallujah and Ramadi in the near future.
Alhbabi: Kurdistan beyond the earthly plain of Nineveh under the pretext of Article 140
Be careful what you wish for....I would much rather deal with the Kurds than DAASH when it comes to territories being occupied.....
Nineveh should be singing praises of what the Peshmerga has done in and around their province to deal with DAASH recently and be thankful they are not being held hostage by the terrorists as some other areas.....when areas are liberated be thankful....
the details associated with any problems surrounding Article 140 can be worked out later.....in the meantime get DAASH out of your root cellars.
The arrest of a gang stole 300 million dinars from the travel company
Strike while the path is still hot and arrest those guilty of the theft.....24 hours after the crime....nailed....nice job.
Expectations .. a new oil agreement between Baghdad and Kurdistan
Here we have a new voice from the Finance Committee speaking up....but on the subject of oil exports....sorry I'm just being skeptical of what is being said here...
had it come from the Oil Minister I would believe in a more credible way....just gun shy of anything from the Finance Committee these days....they have to prove themselves to me.
Genel’s New Chairman Hayward Sees Oil Export Payments in a Month
CEO, Tony Hayward, speaking up regarding payment from the Kurds to Genel Oil maybe within a month.....wonder what they whispered in his ear.....
he wouldn't be talking just to make news print.....something must be up that would prompt him mentioning this at this point in time.....
maybe an agreement between Baghdad and Erbil that would restore a few things for all of Iraq....something called the HCL perhaps.
Iraq begins operation to oust Islamic State group from Anbar
Sounds like we've reached and gone past ZERO hour.....operations are under way to retake Anbar....and we await further details of actual movement and battle results.
Jam session: KRG tries to keep ISIS off the airwaves
The Kurds are working to jam the air waves that ISIS is using out of Mosul and the surrounding areas....would suggest throwing some good ZZ TOP and maybe Led Zeppelin at them, cranked to the max...and a good measure of Grateful Dead....ought to drive the terrorist right over the top.
Elite Forces control over the southern hub of Fallujah Control
Right on time....a follow up the the above news about the retaking of Anbar......certain parts of Fallujah are reported to be back in the hands of the Iraqi forces.....
DAASH has suffered at least 30 dead including 6 suicide bombers.....sounds like fighting is ongoing, pray the terrorists are dealt with swiftly and with finality.
Break time.....hope you enjoy this bit of news on this Monday.....remember.....the BEST is yet to come!
