but the strong will of the concerned authorities were able to control the situation. This did not reach the parties in Baghdad and Erbil to solve the crisis would impart outstanding, especially with regard to the budget.
[millionday] this is funding to the CBK that most fail to recognize --- kurdistan has a central bank as well -- it is a branch smile
[millionday] we should be seeing this by what has been stated by Iraq federal government -- as far as raising tax revenues as well to fund government projects brb with more
[radronin] So they are being "Self-Sustained" it appears!
[millionday] no they are funding some of their own projects as well
[sczin11] radronin not only that, they are not waiting to move forward
[sczin11] millionday sorry

millionday] end of report
[millionday] i am looking for more on it brb
sczin11] at very end of roundtable on monday you brought in a small paragraph about 2 companies making BOND offerings in US dollars- and we never discussed it further.. anymore info? are they us cos selling bonds in USofA? iraqi cos selling BONDS in USD within iraq? or iraqi cos selling USD bonds outside of Iraq?
[millionday] sczin11 i have not seen one more word on it and have tried to find some more on what they were saying so as soon as i find something more on it -- i certainly will -- i know that they were good for years -- i think 2020 maybe -- but will have to pull it to see --- but saw nothing more on when etc
[millionday] good question hun
[thefarm7] I came in late. Am I reading this right that Maliki got a third term?
millionday] i hope not -- but i dont think that will happen due to the huge uproar --- i am looking for more on it
millionday] here we go
[millionday] Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has started the period of bargaining to form a new government as his predecessor’s political bloc demanded that parliamentary polls be repeated, claiming that the vote was rigged.
“There were many cases of vote-rigging and other violations,” Entessar Allawi, a spokesperson for former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi’s Wataniya bloc, told Anadolu Agency. “We reported all the violations to the electoral commission, but our complaints were ignored.”
Al-Maliki won by far the most seats in parliamentary elections, putting him in the driver’s seat for a third term. However, his State of Law alliance fell short of an overall majority, meaning al-Maliki will have to court rivals, some of whom have refused to countenance his bid for re-election.
[Pablo] Last I saw the opposition had the upper hand in the number of seats, though they did not have a majority yet. Do we have any updates as to how many they currently have?
[millionday] note -- this means that his party won but he did not win majority and has to be voted in by rivals for his position
[millionday] Results from the election commission showed State of Law garnered 93 out of 328 parliamentary seats, with al-Maliki himself winning more than 721,000 personal votes.
He needs support from 165 lawmakers to lead the next government. Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr’s al-Ahrar coalition trailed second with 31 seats, followed by the al-Muwatin bloc led by Shiite leader Ammar al-Hakim, which managed to clinch 29 seats.
Sunni Parliamentary Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi’s Mutahidoun ended up with 23 seats. The al-Wataniya list, a Sunni-backed bloc led by Allawi, won 21 seats. SunniDeputy Prime Minister Saleh al-Mutlaq’s al-Arabiya list gained 10 seats.
[millionday] Meanwhile, Kurds won 62 seats and the result was hailed as a “victory” by Kurds and the Kurdish press in Iraq. Kurds won five seats more than in 2010’s elections, raising the number of Kurdish members of Parliament from 57 to 62.
“Kurdistan Won” headlined the Hewler newspaper, known for its links with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) of Masoud Barzani.
The report said Kurdish votes in Iraq were up by 20 percent and that the KDP won 25 seats, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan won 21, the Goran Movement received nine, the Islamic Unity Party obtained four and the Islamic Society Party won three seats in the Iraqi Parliament.
According to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s official newspaper, the Kurdish region will be able to compete with Baghdad thanks to the 62-seat haul.
[millionday] so wow that is huge huge --- the kurds have a true voice in the parliament for the nation and also Maliki and his leading the country will have to be done by placement and i have to say with his previous work -- hmmm we will see
[Pablo] So, which parties have come together against M so far?
[millionday] remember that the placement of the government is being rushed and also the work of CBI has been made clear -- they are a separate entity
Pablo] If it's being rushed, that implies that several opposition parties have already formed a coalition against M to prevent his third term.
[millionday] i dont have that -- he is looking for support needed for his third term --- i dont think they are going to place him but we shall see -- this is huge and they dont believe it and have complained --
[millionday] such a huge uproar i would say
Pablo] How will they resolve the complaints?
[millionday] the formation of the government is being rushed by the UN
[millionday] lets see what the US says about it brb
[millionday] here we go
[millionday] managed Kurdish parties during the meeting with the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani of the formation of a unified delegation to negotiate with Baghdad on the formation of the federal government to come.
said the reporter Agency (news): The meeting of the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani, with representatives of the Kurdish parties appeared today reached an agreement on the formation of a unified Kurdish delegation to negotiate with the political parties in Baghdad to form the next government.
millionday] hold on please looking for more on this brb
[millionday] ok there is just not enough out about this to have secure info on it at this point
[millionday] that goes without saying -- we need a day or two even to see what is happening in stone
millionday] i am sure that many are talking up a storm about it but imo there are going to be changes in the future and more that will be coming
[millionday] we need official from the commissioner and i am not secure in making statements of what is going to remain and who is going to be leading with out it being chosen -- and the truth is that the leaders are not chosen at this point and who is what is without merit right now so we have to wait
[coolspot] MD is there a particular date that they must have a new sitting Government/Parliament by?
millionday] the UN said 15 days -- if they do or not is to be seen -- they seem to be in a huge huge rush so it will not be like last time that i can tell you -- totally different scenario all together
Pablo] 15 days from when?
[millionday] they said that two days ago but it would be from when the results come out -- the thing is that it will be fast and the power sharing to the kurds is huge huge -- officially come out
[millionday] i am not feeling secure in how the results are right now with who what where -- so i am going to follow it with you and expect more secure results and of course the leaders will be placed as we know -- right now is not the time to flip out for lack of better way to put it lol
radronin] MD- any ink on Parliament meeting on the budget??
[quicktolegit96] millionday i may have missed, are we still on a timeline for june 1 for projects?
[millionday] radronin not yet just that it is after the official results are released which they say happened today
[millionday] quicktolegit96 yes the UN has given a timeline for their projects to begin
