Monday News Summaries and Commentaries
Iran has barked at PM Abadi and his government and it appears that Iraq is not too afraid of the bark....they continue to show off several lists of people who are responsible for corruption and other atrocities within Iraq over the past 8 plus years and guess what.....Maliki's name is at the head of all lists.....does not surprise anyone though......
They inch closer and closer to the Anti-Money Laundering Law....a first reading.....and a law promised by October....of course they will drag it out to the very end.....the Labor Law reportedly voted upon....for real....let it be....paving the way for bigger fish to fry....
Speaking of fish to fry.....some former leaders in the government are barking that so what if you cut the heads of departments and ministries....they will still sit at home fat and happy with 80% of their current salary.....be careful who gets the last bark here boys...
PM Abadi has other reforms up his sleeve and it would not surprise me to see a cut in benefits for those who were taken out of government....maybe even dropping all benefits.....how about them apples....some dogs just don't know when to shut up.
The issuance of the list of popular right-Maliki in preparation for trial
So here it starts.....a list of 34 charges brought against none other than Maliki.....for atrocities that were believed to have been done against Iraq and its people....all led in one way or another by Maliki....so what do you say about this list Iran.....still want to sing his praises....bring it on....because all the praise in the world you may find will be forever trumped by what the courts decide on his future.....oh and we aren't scared by your threats either.
Cabinet Secretariat develop a plan for the eradication of corruption in state institutions
PM Abadi intends to ferret out corruption from all levels of government.....beware of the "foofoo" dust that Abadi will be sprinkling upon your hands and then using a blacklight to see if you have guilt or not with regard to corruption.....will you glow in the dark as your hands begin to sweat or will you survive the litmus test.....
He has a plan that involves investment support from the religious authorities as well as the people to bring about full disclosure of corruption activities.....wait for it later this week....how do I know that....I read ahead of course.....
Abadi will bring forth a special committee, yet another group of "untouchables" who can be trusted, much as the Integrity Commission has been branded in the same positive fashion.....those committee members will be entrusted with justice in further investigations that will be brought before the judiciary....yes they too will be gleaned over for corruption....remember no one....NO ONE is above the law in this regard.
The central bank stopped dealing with Iranian banks
Hmmmm....I heard of someone claiming a certain translation of this memo.....guess they better check their interpreter......I tend to believe this version a bit more....focusing upon only two banks....both are Iranian....imagine that....CBI brings to a halt any dealings with them.....ceasing any trading of USD with these two Iranian banks.....they may continue to deal in IQD but will be drained of USD as the CBI suspends any and all such dealings with these banks.
Abadi Barzani threatens to end his political future in the event of dismissal of Hoshyar Zebari, the position of the Ministry of Finance
Ok, you have to be careful of which Barzani we are referencing here....this is the President Barzani of the Kurdistan, not the PM Barzani of the Kurdistan.....got that straight.....now he's trying to tell the world he is throwing a temper tantrum....if PM Abadi announces the sacking of Finance Minister Zebari he will denounce his own presence in the Kurd government.....
Barzani needs to brush up on his Constitutional government protocols it would seem....throwing around idle threats as he is trying to do is not going to get him anywhere but looking pretty lame in the end.....
PM Abadi is acting within his authority and has the backing of Parliament in doing so....by the book he works.....if Zebari has anything to worry about either from his current position or the position he held in Maliki's government as Foreign Minister......then he too needs to go.....NO ONE is above the LAW....remember that.
Misdemeanor integrity announce the resolution of the issue of 13 funds of banks laundering in a civil way to resolve
The Integrity Commission has been working on charges that involve thirteen cases of money laundering within banks, that involves 20 individuals.....this also involves what is believed to have been a fictitious bank account where the money was supposed to have gone....but this account doesn't exist....so it must have been funneled out of the country and into some guilty party's pockets....why does the name Maliki keep popping into my mind....the Integrity Commission is hot on the trail of this caper and looks to apprehend those who were privy and party to the wrong-doing.
Iraq's al-Maliki and a curse
Do not be quick to condemn PM Abadi for any inaction on the part of locking up Maliki......this IMO......is all orchestrated.....he will be brought to justice in time.....he cannot run and hide forever.....someone somewhere will cough him up and the trial will begin....justice will be served....
I'm guessing that at some point in time if he stays at large even in Iraq or Syria or wherever, there will be a bounty put on his head and bounty hunters will eventually run him to ground....justice will be served....he will not win. Why he was allowed to slither into Iran.....well it may very well be a political thing at this point....
But whatever the reason it is beyond our control.....and does not deserve our time or energy wasted on anger.....watch what transpires....sometimes one thing or another has to happen to bring about another thing.....this could be the case here.
Maliki on the way to trial downloaded responsibility for the fall of Mosul
Whether in person or in absentia Maliki is headed for trial....first it would appear for the fall of Mosul....then a whole host of other atrocities he is believed to have been behind while ruling Iraq....he leads a list of 36 who are being charged for a variety of crimes.
Names 34 defendants committee recommended the fall of Mosul, referring them to justice report
Iraq is generating all kinds of lists these days....most of them you don't want your name appearing on.....look at this list....who heads it.....surprise surprise surprise....Maliki.....yep his name is up there in the stars....on the wrong side of the tracks though......don't think you will find his hand prints in concrete, but you might see him fitted for some concrete shoes one day....he leads the short list as those who helped with the fall of Mosul last year.
Parliament discusses the «money laundering» today and economists contend smuggling $ 138 billion since 2003
$138 billion dollars worth of money laundering since 2003.....I contend this is just a tip of the iceberg that will be found associated with dirty money leaving Iraq....with good revenues turned bad that never found its way into the hands of the Iraqi citizens....meanwhile we believe the Anti-Money Laundering Law will get its first reading today.....but won't be voted upon until near October....draw it out to the deadline for that black list.....why be any different than in the past.
Jubouri reveals send 15 thousand purchase invoice currency "rigged" to eliminate
Fake invoices being used by companies.....oh for real....that is as old as the hills.....oust those who are responsible for allowing such activities to go on....yes even if it means ripping apart some of the judiciary who may have turned a blind eye to such things.....NO ONE is above the law.....Speaker of Parliament denouncing such work today and vowing to see that it is halted and those guilty will be replaced by people of greater integrity.
Experts eyes .. Iraqi government deposits between government and private banks
Some money that the government has had returned is being deposited into private banks within Iraq.....is this a safe thing to do....a safe choice on their part......if it is deposited in state banks it is immune from being used in a manner not prescribed by the government....but that immunity from a private bank standpoint raises some questions.....
we all know that private banks have suffered liquidity issues and if they are now trusted with large sums of government deposits will they be tempted to make use of those deposits in an illegal way.....temptation is a root of evil....is this an attempt to determine the trustworthiness of these banks.....or is this an act of craziness by the government.....steady those hands which handle that money......remember PM Abadi's words......"where did you get that".......and.....NO ONE is above the law.....don't get caught with your hand in the till.
Jubouri respond to Maliki's coalition threats will not delete any name from Mosul report and we will hold those involved
Yawn.....so the State of Law coalition is threatening the Speaker of Parliament....remove Maliki's name from your list of criminals....or we walk out of Parliament.....go ahead, would you like us to help you pack your bags.....don't forget that PM Abadi has in mind to cut some folks from Parliament....shall we put your names at the top of that list too....not only will Jubouri not remove Maliki's name from the list he intends to publish the name so the Iraqi citizens can see who made the list.
Urgent Medhat al-Mahmoud submit an application retirement and refer it to the Supreme Judicial refuses
The Federal Judiciary Chairman has submitted his request for retirement....he is the one that so many are screaming has been guilty of corruption issues......the Supreme Judicial Council though has rejected his request.....I'm guessing they may prefer to press charges rather than let him just melt away into retirement....after all retirement might get him a fat salary to live off of but charges that are proven will eliminate any such retirement payments.
House of Representatives vote on the draft labor law majority
It would appear the Parliament voted on the Labor Law today and it passed with a majority voting in favor of it.....knock me down.....one major draft has become a law.
House of Representatives: the assignment of Mosul file to the judiciary
The Parliament voted upon the Mosul final report as a file and is handing it over to the Judiciary...this is within their power to act in this fashion....so on with the plan to try and convict those believed to be guilty as charged.
Deputies law threatening to withdraw from parliament if al-Maliki did not raise the name of Mosul report
Again who is listening to their threats.....besides they may be doing PM Maliki a favor by withdrawing anyway....more power to them....knock yourselves out and don't let the door hit you in the rear.
Mutlaq: Cancel the six positions of Representatives does not mean anything because we Snstlm 80% of our salaries and we sat in our homes
Your mouthiness might be the end of your ride on easy street buster.....don't forget that PM Abadi has more reforms on the way....just as he has more power today to decide how things are to be going forward and could bring an end to any or all of your golden parachute benefits....be careful of how you speak and who might hear it....austere times call for drastic measures.
Jubouri rejects Maliki exception of trial
Speaker Jubouri uses a great many words here to simply say....."NO ONE is above the law".........and also confirms his intentions of publishing the list of names on the report so the citizens of Iraq can see first hand who has been charged and for what crimes.
Simplify the granting of loans for job seekers measures
Job seekers in Iraq may find it easier to obtain loans that may help them in finding jobs.....the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs is spearheading this opportunity to ease up on the constraints for job hunters to get loans.....this will also reduce time to be approved for such loans as well.
Zamili: members of the fall of Mosul belonging to the state law .. tried to falsify the facts and delete Maliki's name from the list of the accused!
So if some members of the State of Law coalition has tried to falsify the Mosul report.....I say add their names to the list of those guilty of wrong-doing associated with the report.....lump them in with Maliki and let the courts decide their fate....in other countries this is known as obstruction of justice and is a crime as well.
Khamenei adviser supportive Nuri al-Maliki: can not deny the role of al-Maliki in independent and prosperous Iraq
Pardon my french but this "advisor" speaks from the donkey's backside.....Maliki helped the Iraqi people.....to what....an early grave.....further into poverty.....oh please.....if the Iranians feel so highly of Maliki's innocence......then pitch him back over the border to stand trial and let justice truly decide his fate......come on I dare you to do this....I double donkey dare you to do this......but you won't do it because you are of the same thug caliber that he is made from.
Investors Leery of Upcoming Iraqi Bond Despite New Credit Rating
When these bonds are floated onto the market my bet is they will be scarfed up as quick as they come into play.....the Fitch rating if it still exists at that level will not hold back those who are interested in investing.....this is a high stakes high risk game and there will be those rollers who feel the dice are hot in favor of Iraq right now and they will put big money into play for the potential to win big....bigger than seen in recent years.....watch for it....times are exciting.
Parliamentary Economy: coordinate with the Secretary of Commerce to replace the corrupt managers in the ministry
Who is left....who can be trusted.....where can we turn for replacements that are above reproach.....key questions being asked of Iraqis today....let's turn to the Secretary of Commerce he appears to be clean and of a head nod approval from PM Abadi....let's use his integrity coattails in which to place new managers in favor of those being kicked out because of corruption issues....this is a real crisis for Iraqi's leadership today.....if corrupt managers are being replaced.....who and how is it determined that the replacements are any better.
Statement: The Central Bank of Iraq sells gold bullion
Remember Family, we first heard of this several years ago.....the CBI selling gold bullion in various weights to the banks who in turn would sell to investors.....it now surfaces again....they have sold in weights up to 50 grams but now intend to sell as high as 1,000 grams.....as a way to save.....I will add that such sales by the CBI is not related to the gold holdings they have in reserves.
Bank of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers deny entry to the sale and purchase of foreign currency window
The CBI is withholding the entry of the Bank of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers into the foreign currency market until they up their ante with regard to their capital.....they have to play by the same rules of everyone else.....must have 250 billion dinars as capital to enter the market.
Poll: Iraqis to overthrow the corrupt politicians and hold them accountable
One poll of Iraqi citizens indicates that upwards of 38% of the people believe that the corrupt politicians must go and they must be held accountable for their actions.....they are saying the same thing that PM Abadi is saying in his reform efforts.....thus Abadi is voicing his opinion just as the citizens are....NO ONE is above the law and he will not defend anyone who is believed to be guilty of corruption charges....give this time and the waters should be cleared.
Integrity reopen corruption Ahmed al-Jubouri, files, and prevent him from traveling
The former governor of Salahuddin province and current Parliament member Jubouri is being reinvestigated and may be prevented from traveling while the investigation remains open against him.....this is a different Jubouri than Speaker of Parliament.
Justice: We seek to sign agreements with neighboring countries to recover criminals on its territory
Iraq is telling neighboring countries that included Iran.....we want our criminals back....they must be brought to trial in Iraq....and we are seeking their return for these trials....throw Maliki back over the border.
Sabri: Council of Ministers will be held there tomorrow and its new packages reforms
The COM meets tomorrow and expect to see PM Abadi in full charge and prepared to announce more sweeping reforms that will include the trashing of some ministries as well as the combining of other ministries.....change is in the air.
