Good Monday morning to you all, looks like the start of a bright week ahead for a number of issues....maybe the primary focus this week will be the 2015 budget.....it appears poised to tee up for a vote on Thursday.....Maliki's name is back in the news again....and along with his name comes the words corruption and deceit.
Jolie in Iraq, says more needed for Iraq and Syria refugees
From the UNHCR....UN Refugee Agency comes Angelina Jolie touring areas of Iraq holding displaced Iraqi citizens in Northern Iraq....she says that financial help for these people is coming too slow and is pushing for greater response to help with their current plight.
Parliamentary Energy reveal an alternative draft oil and gas law of former Law
The Council of Ministers is currently working on a draft of an alternative oil and gas law....one that is away from the original draft which they say was full of disagreement and problems...in typical Iraqi rhetoric they are saying the new draft will be presented to Parliament in coming sessions.....soon....we shall see...maybe it will get ignited later this week if the budget gets passed and is out of the way.
Chalabi is head of Parliament readiness of the budget in order to vote next Thursday
The Chairman of the Finance Committee, Chalabi, says the Committee is ready to have Parliament put the budget to a vote....this coming Thursday....meanwhile the Parliament met today and got several things accomplished.....sort of a side note here, but I still contend it is awesome work on their part to get enough members together to form a quorum and actually get work accomplished.....the previous Parliament was not capable of doing this with any consistency....don't forget that.
Will approve the financial budget for 2015 on Thursday
With optimistic expectations some are saying the budget will be approved on Thursday....the deficit appears to have been reduced to 21% from what they are also saying.....can't wait to see what this will bring.
Parliamentary looking investment director with TBI develop development plans
The Economic and Investment Commission met with the director of the Trade Bank of Iraq and spoke together on development plans that can stem from the TBI to help with the current economic crisis inside of Iraq....not much detail was forthcoming from this meeting....but perhaps yet another marriage being made...get ready for the celebration.
Parliamentary Announces reduce the price of a barrel of oil to $ 55 in the budget accounts to reduce the deficit
One member of Parliament is talking about $55 for oil rather than $60....does that make such a change so in the budget....I'm going to hold out and see what the budget document itself tells us....this could very easily be someone's personal opinion or desire at the time of the interview.
The US ambassador in Baghdad, the House of Representatives up and stresses the need for the reconstruction of Iraq
Word through the US Ambassador to Iraq is that the US continues to support efforts being taken against DAASH as well as reconstructive efforts to rebuild the areas damaged by the terrorists....although support from Washington is considered weak at best at the moment.
Former adviser: al-Maliki received a percentage of each project has been implemented in Baghdad
So the rats get hungry and they start to sing to get their cheese....a former henchman of Maliki's is quoted as saying that the former PM was receiving payments for every project that was implemented in Baghdad....why does that not surprise me.....add this to the long list of prosecutable events for the king of thuggery and corruption.
Parliamentary oil gathering signatures to question officials in the Maliki government "squandered" public money tours licenses
The Oil and Energy Commission is calling for investigations into some alleged corruption associated with oil contracts from the previous government and the lack of payments to the oil companies....smelling another sour rat in the wood pile here....stand up Maliki and government and be held accountable.
