KRG to provide March and February`s salary without having received budget from Iraq
An interesting article and meeting between Kurdish PM Barzani and Kurdish MP's, ministers within the Iraqi government and Kurdistan parliament MP's.....where it was announced that Kurdistan has money to pay Feb and March salaries....but if things are not resolved beyond that point and Baghdad continues to withhold money.....they will have to consider the sale of oil and movement of funds from the DFI account into Kurdish accounts to pay employees.....they have let this be known to Baghdad and await a response from them.....the Kurdish demands well be brought up before Maliki and his COM at their next meeting which should be tomorrow.

Hakim has received his voter registration card: the elections is a national duty and will determine the team that leads the country
The head of the Islamic Supreme Council received his voter registration card at one of the distribution centers....stating that the process will speed up the results of the election and represents the democratic process within Iraq....he stressed the need for broad participation in the upcoming election.

Basically there are no negotiations between the two sides at this point....because the Kurds have left proposals with Baghdad and have retreated to Erbil.....why God only knows.....they should stay and continue with at least staring at each other across the table until one side blinks....let them be the winner....otherwise more of the same talk that has been mentioned earlier....how many different ways can the same subject be discussed.

The head of EU Foreign Affairs and Security claims the Kurdistan area is a model of stability and believes the international community could be doing more for the Kurds....hear that US....more companies are pulling out of Southern Iraq and many are relocating to Kurdistan....and the international community could do well to assist the Kurds in international trade and investment.
Turkish Energy Minister: Kurdistan is our only solution to tackling gas prices
The Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources states that the Kurdistan is their only source for natural gas....he said that the Kurds provide a source of economical natural gas for Turkey.....currently Turkey has oil companies drilling in 13 different locations within Kurdistan....both know of the threat from Baghdad if the Kurds sell any oil to Turkey at the moment.
Urgent .. Najafi: I will repeat the pension law to the presidency of the republic until its publication in the Official Gazette
Najafi has stated that he will continue to push the Retirement Law in front of the President and Vice Presidents until it is published in the Official Gazette.....stating that it is not the responsibility of the President or Vice Presidents to veto the law and it must be approved within 15 days....he believes the time limit has been exceeded and the President must sign or legal action will be taken......hmmmm......this makes me wonder what happened to the Language Law that was approved back at the beginning of January.

US Senator Zakhem visited Halabja Saturday and spoke at the graves of those who lost their lives in the genocide caused by Saddam....he stated that the Kurds need to stay unified to insure their future in the world.....and apologized for how the Kurds have been largely ignored.....it is good to see at least someone in the US government cares.

So they are only 81% short of having all voter registration cards issued.....and the deadline for dealing them out is April 20.....less than 2 months away....there has been a marked negative demand for the cards by the public and Maliki is trying to convince everyone of the need to be in possession of a card if they intend to vote.....I still think this will be a very interesting election....which politician can convince the most of their bloc to get the cards....that will be how the outcome will be determined....IMO.

More of the same talk about this bloc or that bloc not showing up to work....always causing a lack of a quorum......there needs to be a bounty of errant MP's that shirk their jobs.....put someone in their place that will earn their salary.....all laws are important....otherwise they shouldn't be laws.
Blocs leaders meet today to discuss the budget
Najafi met today with leaders of blocs to discuss the budget and the issue they face in getting a quorum put together for a meeting....they have now had three consecutive sessions where they lacked a quorum.
Osman: No formal decision on the withdrawal of the Kurds from the political process
So the Kurds have not made a formal decision to back away from Parliament sessions at this point....and that topic was not brought up in their meeting yesterday with Barzani....seems like it is just food for thought....funny the kind of food that politicians eat.

Yet another story twist on the Kurd meeting that happened yesterday with Barzani......calling on Baghdad to fork over their portion of the budget (17%) and for the international community to put heat on Baghdad to end the economical blockade against the Kurds.

Finally some new news....incredible there are arrest warrants out for who knows how many MP's who cannot be touched at this time due to immunity while a member of Parliament.....but come April 30....they will be sought and airports and ports of entry will be closely monitored for any of them trying to beat a hasty retreat.....why does crimes of corruption and money laundering come to mind at this time.
