Millionday Roundtable 9/9/13
[millionday] here is what parliament did today >>>>>>>>>The Iraqi House of Representatives failed to present the electoral law for a vote at today's meeting. MP, of the Iraqiya coalition, Wahda al-Jumaili said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The Council has failed in presenting the election law for a vote at today's meeting of the non-completion of the political blocs' views on the law.
[millionday] She added: "The delay in adopting the electoral law and its impact on the work IHEC is what some political blocs want in order to postpone the parliamentary elections."
It was scheduled that the House of Representatives is to present the electoral law to a vote on today's session -- the thing is that we expect this because we are informed
[millionday] we know that parliament is trying to get all the laws ready in order to vote them through at the same time to minimize the political stance
[millionday] this is not unusual because they do that it most democratic states --- the thing is -- you vote in what i want and i will vote in what you want kind of a childs version of fair smile

[RickeyT] I wonder if the National Conference carries as much weight as the release of Chapter 7 did.
[millionday] RickeyT with it coming at the end of this month i would say to guess if it will be at the same time as the economic reform would bring a yes -- the thing is that the reforms require it money and funding that is now distributed --
[millionday] this is why most are saying it is coming soon -- the funding makes it ready for the governmental reforms -- among other things -- the national conference brings the peace agreement and the reforms they have in place -- so it will be huge
dinarmamma] millionday great news!!! Ty
[millionday] Revealed a coalition of state law, led by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Monday, that "the three presidencies and heads of political blocs will meet this evening, in the office of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki," and that the aim of the meeting "search security file and developments in Syria,"
pointing that the presidencies would "take a united stand of these topics." The leader of the coalition of state law, Khalid al-Asadi said in an interview to (Presse term), "The three presidencies,
in addition to the heads of political blocs in the House of Representatives will hold a meeting in the office of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki." Asadi said that "the objective of the meeting is to discuss the deteriorating security situation in Iraq, and ways to find a solution to stop these violations,"
explaining that "the meeting will discuss the latest developments in Syria and possible military attack by Iraq's position it."
[hstrymknwmn] Millionday I know the NC will do this. Since we have been doin this so long I have forgotten where I read what NC entails. Do you have it handy? Or anyone?
[millionday] hstrymknwmn which details ?
[hstrymknwmn] Of what the National conf will have
[millionday] the reason i brought this is to show you that they are operating as the three presidencies -- and this is great great for the country
millionday] hstrymknwmn the national conference will have the signing of the peace agreement within the country with the kurdistan region and the federal gov --
[letsroll] millionday don't mean to interupt rt..IYO will bombing syria delay the progress in Iraq or is that just another unknown to be seen .... or anyone ? seems the current admin. is bent to move forward with it ........
[millionday] they are expected to announce the reforms they have to be launched --
[hstrymknwmn] Ok Ty Millionday. Was looking for the article for it thanks We've been waiting for SOOOOOO LONG.
[millionday] letsroll it is certainly going to effect the country -- the question of whether it will effect the economy being activated or i should say the reform - no -i have it somewhere - but that is what it says
[hstrymknwmn] Yes thank you so much
[millionday] i will try to find it -- and bring it tonight
[bluedog2] millionday It does pave the way for a smoother transition for the economic reforms.
[hstrymknwmn] Ok ty
[millionday] it is in many of the chats at night i have done yw all the time hun smile
[millionday] lets look at the rest of this -- it states what they think about the syria event effecting what they are doing
[millionday] The leader of the coalition of state law that "the meeting will take a united stand by these subjects," expected to "issue a statement after the meeting calling for adherence to the unity of Iraq and an end to political differences to face internal and external challenges."
The head of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Osama Najafi revealed, on Sunday, (September 8, 2013), that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will attend to the House of Representatives and meet with leaders of blocs to discuss the security file soon, "as he emphasized that the presence of security leaders of the parliament is necessary.
The Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said on Sunday, during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Baghdad, said sectarianism of not less dangerous than chemical weapons, and reiterated Iraq's position calling for a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
[millionday] Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Najafi stressed, Saturday, (September 7, 2013) during their meeting in the office of al-Maliki, the need to address the "sectarian sedition and cohesion of the national front" in Iraq, while stressing the rejection of the use of force against the Syrian regime.
It is noteworthy that the incidence of violence in Baghdad has seen since, the beginning of August 2013, a decline compared with July the previous year, as reported the United Nations Mission in Iraq, in the first of September 2013, the month of August last,
witnessed the death and injury of 2834 Iraqi operations of violence in different parts of the country, while some expressed its "concern about the death and injury (17) thousand Iraqis since the beginning of the year 2013."
[millionday] it doesnt say much that we can use for clues but as we see they are meeting over the next few days so i will start bringing what they say so we can follow what they think about syria and if it looks like this is going to stall the country`s reforms --- my opinion is absolutely not -- but we will keep an eye out brb with more
[millionday] here is something that a member wants to talk about>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> A member of the Finance Committee deputy secretary-Hadi, the need for passing a law to delete the three zeroes from the currency so as to its importance in banking transactions.
said Hadi (of the Agency news): The project to delete the zeros frozen now and cons of approval is launched without coordination with the executive bodies will stagger policy the country, stressing the need for coordination and agreement with the concerned authorities for approval in a timely Almanaab.
[millionday] said: that Iraq needs to activate the law of the deletion of zeros to maintain the value of the dinar against other currencies and facilitate banking transactions, adding that it should be resolved debt issues and the frozen funds before approving the project.
The parliamentary economic committee suggested that the date of implementation of the project to delete the three zeroes from the currency at the beginning of next year
[no-regret] resolving debt issues ---could this mean passing law of indebtedness
][millionday] the thing is this >> they have debts that have not been forgiven and they have signed agreements that they will pay them through these frozen accounts
[millionday] the thing is that they have control of the accounts makes you wonder why they are referring to them as frozen accounts --- so i think this -- they refer to them by name as a reference as they do the three zero currency and they are discussing the currency reform law that is on the agenda of the parliament of iraq
[no-regret] makes sense
[millionday] they do need to have it passed as it is signed off on by maliki and the ministers and was passed to parliament -- we know by press statements that they are for the removal right now so we can know that the laws they are working on must rely on this reform or law
[millionday] the only way it makes sense is for iraq to put through all these laws at once -- because the figures and the laws as they are written would make no sense without the economic reform and new pricing in place -- because other wise it would not make sense to have one law or even one reform in place without ALL in place --
[millionday] they would not be compliant without the others smile brb with more

[millionday] the elders are calling for amnesty to be put in place --
millionday] i would be confortable in saying that they have it on the agenda -- only makes sense so they meet again tomorrow
