PETRO TEX: I was discussing with low jack...Malikis recent posturing on u s troop withdrawal. he has publicly stated that the us will leave at the end of the year... I find it ironic that he states this now'. it is a known fact that Sadr is planning a large demonstration opposing the prime ministers performance..... so I believe this statement about u s troops was only made to soften Sadr,s position on him.....Any thoughts ?
SUNNYONE_CA: IQD team agrees that this statement was made to look politically correct to Sadr. And that the troops will be staying in ways that are more or less "in cognito".
WILDBILL: I have just posted an article about this that I found today on worldnetdaily.com
PETRO TEX: should the strategic counsel become empowered, that could create a avenue around him to secure u s troops in iraq beyond the december departure date
BILLUKE: Make sense what you say petro. M is trying to play the middle of the road. Are you hearing anything further on the pending RV? I saw what you stated about Erbil/Arbil.
RAYT: Anyone who believes that the US will not have a military presence in Iraq is being a bit niave... After all that we have invested in blood & treasure, as well as building the largest US Embassy anywhere in the World, there is no way we are pulling all of our troops...
DINARFAN86: Agree, this is political deflation of the planned protest. Sadr is certainly a pain
PETRO TEX: Sadr is doing us a favor right now...Holding Malikis feet to the fire over keeping his word.... he is no friend but he is serving a purpose. Ray T . you're right we are not leaving, however we would prefer it to be their idea
windydiosa : Sometimes an irritant creates pearls. Sadr is putting M. in the crosshairs. M. would be wise to enact Erbil quickly so he no longer has to be the sole person they can point fingers at when things go wrong. I suspect Sadr wants to bring M. down a peg or two as well. I have a hunch he wants this rv done and M. weakened both of which play into his own agenda.
windydiosa : Ah the art of diplomacy......takes longer to achieve but is usually longer lasting once it's done.
BIGDINAR1970: From what I read in that article it state that there will only be training and security forces in Iraq and that only combat troops will be pulled by years end.
Peace & Blessings,
