Now the Finance Committee is applauding and supporting the CBI's efforts to control money laundering and smuggling with their new remittance system....they see it as a means to restrict the amount of IQD going abroad....this in turn will control the exchange rate in such a way that the budget is supported and the deficit is covered....the CBI continues to insist that it is not preoccupied with selling currency....heck no they are in business to grow the revenues of their country....Iraq.

Oil Minister Mahdi spoke on Saturday that Iraq is needing to look at the inequity of distribution of wealth among the Iraqi people and says it must end....they must look to equal distribution with the population and put an end to trying to fool people....
I believe he refers to the manner in which the old government chose to use smoke and mirrors about payments to the people and is saying there must be transparency today in how the wealth of the nation is distributed.
Sabri: apply Article 140 after the elimination of Daash
A spokesperson for PM Abadi says that the application of Article 140 will be delayed until after DAASH is fully eliminated from the areas of dispute....that attempting to do anything with it today would not be productive because much of the area is under some level of DAASH control now.
Deputy: Parliament did not reach a decision on the second reading of the draft investment law
Ok, I had to run to Parliament and take a look, sorry I'm out of breath from that marathon.....the Investment Law wasn't on the agenda for today's meeting....they await the submittal of the law from the Committee on Economic and Investment....
so get the lead out committee and get this back in front of the group for the second reading....there are things being held within this law that can bridge the current liquidity crisis.....they NEED this law....they work on strategic plans....they held an investment conference earlier this month....so much is waiting and riding on the successful passage of this law....do not let weeds grow under your feet....bring it forward and make it so.
Monday, the second reading of the law of the Federal Court
Monday Parliament will reconvene again....wow this every "two-day" schedule of theirs without a holiday of some sort has to be a record of some kind....start pushing out some of these critical bills and laws....the Federal Court Law is just one of them...
there are more you guys know which ones....line them up and let's play bowling for dinars...you want to pass this law ASAP......read the law a second time on Monday and wait an hour then vote it through...all in the same day....simple process....kind of like DO RA ME....one two three....but all you need is the two three....one is done.
House of Representatives will reconvene width of the Federal Court's decisions about switching Representatives
Parliament seems to be getting into this "reconvene" act....again they do this....end a session and come back later that day for a second session....gives everyone time to run to Subway for a foot-long, or to call Dominoes for a delivery in chambers....then the newbies will be sworn in....those who should have won Parliament seats in the first place....talk on National Nuclear Authority....Japanese loan to help with the port city of Faw.
MPs call for Basra to the adoption of Basra, Iraq's capital and economic law
Now this is a Parliament hot potato.....making a law to create Basra as the Economic capital of Iraq.....why is this important you might ask....so am I....of course it is important to the people of Basra no doubt...but what happened to critical and crucial priorities people....investment laws....oil and gas laws.....Federal Court laws.....taxation and tariffs.......heck even the public showing of the budget....those are IMPORTANT things...things of PRIORITY.....don't make me send KNARF to you to get things set straight....you will regret that, you will laugh so hard that you might just have an accident....know what I mean.
Parliament voted in principle to the entry into force of Iraqi law on private security companies
Parliament voted today on a law...woohoo....this law concerns the validity of the Iraqi private securities companies law...what a mouthful.....not something that I was expecting....wait one while I run back to Parliament again....huffing and puffing again...opps my bad it was on the agenda...item number 4.....well another one bites the dust....open the doors for the big boy laws now....you've done a great job of getting the chaff and riffraff out of the way....now onward and upward.
Parliament will vote on the draft law on ratification letters and memoranda of the Japanese loan law
OK, now this was NOT on the agenda for today but they voted on it anyway.....moving a little outside the box....did you catch that boxman....they bulged your sides today....voting on the loan from Japan to help Basra update and modernize one of their ports....a worthy project...and they are given 30 years to pay back this loan....at a mere 6% interest.
Jubouri meet Mladenov Manmam mark the end of his work in Iraq
I never thought that I would outlast people in Iraq in their jobs...but here we have Speaker Jubouri meeting with Mladenov the representative of the UN Secretary General to Iraq on his way out of Iraq.....
as usual they were troubled to find the right adjectives to describe the situation in Iraq....but Mladenov certainly pointed to progress being made by this new Parliament and leaves them in hopes of continued success....I am sure he is just happy to see the last group go and is elated to know that real progress if finally being made in Iraq....he can say that he was there to help that progress get started.
..bde Urgent parliamentary session to view the decisions of the House of Representatives and the switching performance of the new right and to vote and read several laws
This meeting of Parliament today included 185 members present and yes they did seem to follow the agenda set forth earlier in the week for this session....with a few noted side trips from above.....hey it is a good sign they keep meeting without coming up for air or a holiday....and they are set to meet again on Monday.
Abadi in Parliament next Monday to discuss the demands of the Year"
Monday's Parliament session will be "special" they will have PM Abadi speaking to the body about security issues that face Iraq in the coming year.....he will discuss the security demands that the Union of Forces coalition has given to him....they will be sending Parliament deputies to the session to hear first hand the message being conveyed by Abadi and what guarantees he brings regarding their demands....Abadi's response will hinge their decision to end their boycott of sessions....but who even knew they were boycotting....
Sessions have gone smoothly...well reasonably smooth and laws have been passed apparently without their presence....ho hum.....but in reality Abadi's message and intentions could be very instrumental in swaying Sunni tribesmen in how they see the future for their involvement in fighting against DAASH....I for one do not see Abadi saying anything that will likely create any strife on this front....he knows full well he needs support across the board if DAASH is to be eliminated.
Finance calls for self-financing companies to take over Raotbha
Finance Minister Zebari calls on companies to review the banks that will be taking over the salary payments of their employees....these companies, the self-financing companies exchange.....he believes all necessary steps are in place and ready for this action to occur starting next week.....and next week would be tomorrow for them.
Poll / government reduced time and decide to be the year 7 months and 40 days a month instead of 30.
Talk about confusion.....supposedly the COM may have agreed to implement this payment every 40 days instead of 30 days....but that goes against what PM Abadi has recently been quoted as saying.....regardless...if this is the case, their decision has met with a great deal of concern and confusion on the Iraqi streets from Iraqi citizens....the citizens and especially the impacted employees are not in favor of this kind of action at all.....it seems toward the bottom of the article that Abadi's office is saying what he has said...this process will only be implemented in extreme conditions.....it does not sound like they have gone forward with this as yet...but the possibility for it does exist.
Sources in the parliamentary commission of inquiry: the fall of al-Maliki easy Mosul
More leaks from this investigation commission on the fall of Mosul....fingers continue to point towards Maliki, especially so after interviewing some 50 military commanders who say that calls for help basically went unanswered by Maliki....there are claims that this was not only a military conspiracy but also a political and administrative conspiracy as well....I would caution you in reading this that these are leaks.....nothing about them is laid in stone just yet....await the final report of the commission to see how many nooses will be swinging on the gallows stage.
President of the Republic up to Sulaymaniyah and meet Jalal Talabani

Ali Hatem al-Suleiman: if he wants Abadi real reconciliation, he captured al-Maliki
At least one individual is trying to tell PM Abadi if you want any real reconciliation with the Sunni tribes you need to arrest Maliki for his crimes....it is believed that Maliki brought DAASH into Iraq....and that it will take his arrest to get Sunni tribes to stand with the rest of Iraq to push them out of Iraq.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament: we move towards changing the membership of the House of Representatives correct Paljdd
Today the Parliament decided to postpone making changes to some seats today as a result of Federal Court action that expels a number of members of Parliament due to their being "placed in Parliament" by their coalition or bloc leadership rather than by the vote of the people.....good things continue to keep happening with this government....they do not like corruption and will not stand by and allow it to grow.
Birwan sireniform: Kurdistan Alliance components is considering several options to communicate with the federal government
Kurds report that they will not pursue an option of pulling out of the government in Baghdad if they fail to reach worthwhile agreements on the oil and gas and salary issues.
Parliamentary Energy: We have not had official information about the tanker Kurdish and Baghdad and Erbil agreement exists
The Oil and Energy Commission states it has not received any official word one way or the other about the tanker containing Kurd oil off loading in Israel....reiterating that the oil agreement between Baghdad and Erbil still remains in place.
His office for "tomorrow Press:" not sure yet Abadi attend the next session of parliament
She loves....She loves me not....She loves....that is about how quick stories and news articles can change in Iraq....I'm not even done with the summaries yet and now we see that PM Abadi may or may not be at the Parliament session on Monday.....they were going to bring him a case of macadamia nut cookies too.....his loss, I know who will be eating them all.
Taking a break and breather for now....enjoy Family. Aloha Randy
