Justice and Accountability: We will bill the "body" to parliament on Sunday
The committee working on the Justice and Accountability law will finally be presenting this draft to Parliament on Sunday....so they say.....this comes after a number of changes were made to the law....should be interesting to see what their final outcome looks like and how it is received by the body of Parliament.
Abadi hold an emergency meeting with security chiefs and calls for the protection of property
PM Abadi met with the heads of security chiefs and called upon them to do all they can in dealing with gangs in the Tikrit area who are now popping up and looting property that stands empty....these gangs need to be caught and prosecuted for their crimes he says.....He also stressed the importance of getting ministry operations back up and running in these liberated areas to provide services to the citizens as they return to their homes.
Iraqi ports Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Office of Development
A memorandum of understanding was signed with the UN to bring in consultants with the intent to improve operations in the Iraqi port areas as well as help to identify projects that can improve productivity of the port operations themselves.
Maysan Council holds financial responsibility lag in access entitlements cleaners
Maysan Province is awaiting payment of petrodollars in order to pay cleaning workers for their efforts....they have received nothing with regard to the petrodollar allotment and as a result their province is suffering with regard to hygienic efforts because they cannot afford to pay workers in that area.
Parliament is hosting the Minister of the Interior in today's session
The Interior Minister will be meeting with Parliament today.....providing a briefing on the security situation within Iraq today and in particular to the Saluhuddin province that has been recently liberated from the clutches of DAASH terrorists.
Agricultural Bank gives loans to farmers
The Agriculture Bank is working to get COM to agree to allow them to make loans to farmers.....they have 250 billion dinars that can be used in this process they say.
Iraq oil companies paid dues
As the Oil Minister promised oil companies have been paid what has been owed to them....at least up to date at this point with a payment of $12 billion dollars....while Treasury bonds have been within Iraq for the same amount....seems that $9 billion was paid to the oil companies at this time....and quarterly payments of $4 billion dollars will be made starting at the end of the last quarter of this year.....more payment delays.....must be related to liquidity issues.....at the same time all oil companies are being asked to cut all but essential costs that have direct impact upon production.
Zubair municipality receives specialized mechanisms and equipment worth 25 billion dinars
The municipality of Zubair near Basra received equipment worth about 25 billion dinars...this equipment will help in paving streets as well as in hauling water and providing lights in certain areas....sounds like the equipment may lead to project work and more jobs....hopefully some money will follow the equipment so it can be put to work.
Planning: Iraq crisis vehicle, the International Fund has become the need
The Ministry of Planning is claiming that terrorist activities have taken a toll on funds available for projects as funds are being funneled into efforts against the DAASH terrorists.....they want to lean upon the IMF to provide funds for expected work projects that are associated with reconstruction efforts in areas liberated from the terrorist occupation.
Economists call for a return to work and raise the auction currency Article 50 of the Budget Law
An article of opinions from economists....not the CBI....but they are saying that Article 50 of the budget inhibits the independence of the CBI in their operations....they see the truth behind Article 50's limitations of $75 million dollars in the daily auctions as the cause of the rise in the USD over the IQD in recent months......supply and demand.....
It has been the speculators who have caused this wedge between the two....not the actions of the CBI....but rather the result of what was written into the 2015 budget that impacted the CBI operation.....an illegal action on the part of Parliament that awaits a decision from the Judicial branch as to the validity of the action taken by Parliament against the CBI.
