KAPERONI: I just want to clarify, Shabibi himself said he cannot come back unless the warrrent (without bail) is cancelled. He also states.."could be take me to a place no one knows and that's what makes me fearful of returning to Baghdad."
In others words, one of Maliki's secret prisons never to be seen again....and a dead man. All of this occured before the Skype video...now that Shabibi has called out Maliki via video,
IMO there is no chance Maliki will let up..he simply cannot or he will look corrupt. In fact, as I stated, I expect Maliki to file additional charges on Shabibi.
This is very unfortunate for our investment, and clearly a setback. The best we can ask for at this point is that Iraq moves forward and gets a skilled man in that position soon. The longer this goes on, the longer it will be before any currency change and raise in value can happen.
TLAR: respectfully I disagree that this is unfortunate for our investment. I too felt this way last week but came to realize that the war between Shabibi and Maliki in and of itself would not allow the currency to change.
Maliki and the SOL now have to deal with where the CBI is at this moment. There are certain realities that they face. I think they just realized that when they agreed to the IMF that they would cancel the ration cards in March 2013.
Read More Link On Right
TLAR CONTINUES:The shear fact that they are attempting to move in sync with the IMF to me shows that they are concerned about what their doing and how it looks. Maliki in my opinion wants investment to come pouring into Iraq. He has said as much just recently.
He will come to find that a healthy bank means a healthy Iraq. If he is seen trying to rob the reserves as Shabibi accuses him and his party, I believe he is smart enough to know there are dire consequences in his dealings with the IMF and the World bank.
He needs investment and he needs loans. He will realize he has to play the game plus his guy, Turkri is not a rookie by any means. There are certain things Iraq must do to gain the respect of the international community.
I believe that they just attempted to do one which makes me believe that the IMF post Shabibi, will play an even bigger guidance role for this government and in particular the bank.
Maliki will come to understand that if he does not play by international rules that he will be excluded from the game. Glass half full or half empty. This is not yet decided but IMHO we will know the direction in the next 2 weeks.
If they seem to be following the rules to inter the international banking system, my best guess is the RV is still on. If they rob the piggy, then the RV is off. Also the tariff and tax law that was postponed now two times is still on to be implemennted in January unless it was postponned again and I didn't see the article.
If it is still on then so must the RV still be on. You can't install taxes and tariffs without an RV or it would be like strapping a ball and chain to their economy. All of this is MHO.
TOBYBOY: Reading these articles it does appear that Maliki is putting himself in corner. I still believe that Dr Shabibi is going to win out on this battle. Its coming out more corrupt in Maliki's authority. More support everyday for Shabibi.
As I said believe this is going to drag out. Lord knows what Maliki's people have done to the 20 women he had arrested. I feel we see the victory for Shabs but will take some time hope we don't see these women disappear.
BIGMAMA shabbs will be back..this is his baby and the imf, the wb, the un and unami all came to shabbs rescue and stopped the arrest warrant..this is no arrest warrant even the supreme judicial judge that the u.s. went to see said he knew nothing of it..
shabbs wants the people, especially the women that were arrested at the cbi let out on bail so they can go before the judicial and present a case of their innocence..
its all in articles..shabbs stated on the skype call that yes he is afraid of being taken somewhere to never return..he did out maliki big time, and the arms deal was a seal of maliki's fate.
.talabani and barzani just had a meeting this weekend and barzani basically told talabani you can no longer rely on him abiding by any other agreements, and you cant hide rake what other crap he is doing under the rug anymore..
so they both said that they will have an alliance with the iraqyia(which is allawi) and no longer with the national alliance..which could mean that they have established a majority opposition government and by doing that they no longer after to replace maliki from the national alliance bloc.
.the constitution states if the pm is replaced then the president picks from the largest bloc..get it.. they have given him enough rope to hang himself and he did..
the ration card item was not at the request of the imf to just stop it..they said to come up with a way to replace it after a study..even the articles stated that the council of ministers said it was not even on the agenda to be discussed, maliki brought it up and they voted just that quick to get rid of it and go to cash..just think about this...
we know they needed to get rid of this program to a certain degree but the alloted money was supposed to go on the new biometric card that alot of them have gotten already...
what another way for maliki to sabotage shabb's plan than to give them cash instead of the new card...i cant believe that no one sees what a black market this will start, which is exactly where maliki can go to get his cash..
if he is such a great pm and he knows their is corruption in the ration card system then out the ones that are doing it..he cant cause he is one of them...i will ask this then..
if the un thinks it is okay for maliki to just hold more than 300 positions by proxy then why havent they pushed kuwait harder to get the items done..
it wasnt just all iraq in this deal..you watch...they talk of chapter 7 and the imf and wb items and the wto items, because they already know that the power sharing is going to happen..
.no erbil..no rv, ri. float what ever you want to call it..
he would still have his hands in all 300 of thoses proxy positons cookie jars and there is no way the u.s. will allow that they have already said they are coming out harder against iraq, syria and iran now that the elections are over....good grief..
with the whole economic world backing shabbibi you think they will allow him to push him out?...i think not..let the arts shake out and we will see, but i remember many throwing shabbs under the bus right off the bat saying he was corrupt and we are slowly finding out differently and just give shabbs enough time ..i think he will be the one to bring down maliki..its only fitting..its the money men.. KAPERONI: "but i remember many throwing shabbs under the bus right off the bat saying he was corrupt" DA never once said this...In fact we took a stand and said "Shabs was the good guy" from day one.
