What is really going for Maliki these days?
I have wondered these last few weeks why Maliki has made such an about face and seems to be doing everything to help Iraq out of these crisis, the very crisis that he helped cause.
Well today, there may be some light on this subject. Remember that I just said; there may be some light to this, meaning I don’t make judgment based off one individual article until we have many that confirm it to be true.
The first one was sent to me this morning entitled; Kurdish newspaper: State law seeks to postpone the parliamentary elections and extend the mandate of al-Maliki
In where it states that PM Maliki has postponed parliamentary elections and has extended the three presidencies.

It goes on to say that the State of Law coalition bloc in the House of Representatives are working on the postponement of general elections in Iraq and the extend of the three presidencies but the political blocs stand deduced from it.
Furthermore it says that Parliament will end next year but the state law is preparing for the implementation of a project similar to what happened in the Kurdistan region and extend the mandate of the Iraq Parliament and this implies the extension of the presidency of the republic and the prime minister as well.
The second one was posted yesterday by our member ussohiorob but I overlooked it because of all the other research that has consumed my time. RSS and I talked today and he brought it up and It is entitled: Iranian blessing .. Barzani and Maliki agree on power-sharing in Baghdad
It starts off by talking about a source (don’t you just love them when they start off with, a source, lol) revealed an agreement between Barzani and Maliki during his visit to Baghdad. Which they MAY have talked about politics ensures the alliance at the head of the Authority for the next four years.
It goes on to say that they talked about Barzani taking over Talabani’s Presidency and that Malki would get special influences of who would chair the Council of Ministers. This statement alone sounds a little conspiratorial in nature.
It continues with more sources talking about the same thing, like they are trying to convince the readers. They state that the real reason for the visit last Sunday by Barzani to Baghdad was not for the purpose of resolving the issues but for this alliance of conspiracy, just joking I added that conspiracy part.
Then these sources talk about Iraq is currently working to convince Barzani to run for presidency of Iraq and that Iran is seeking two main goals. First protect and control continuing influence growing in Iraq and maintaining its role within the political map in Iraq with replacing key people with whom they want. And the second objective Iran wants is an Independent Kurdistan State in Iraq.
As Jim Carrey the not so cared for actor these days once said, “alrighty than”
I’m not saying this isn’t true but it sure sounds like a conspiracy theory, but the first article could explain why Maliki has turned a complete 360 on being part of the solution and stop being part of the problem.
Not at all sure about this second one but I will say this, nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to Iraq and it all could lead to all of what is being conveyed here.
We will wait to see but as so many believe that Maliki has been the hold up and because of this the currency reform will be put off I say this: Iraq hasn’t been ready, they still have unresolved issues to resolve and as long as parliament is working (just because they are not in session this week does not mean that they did not work) and doesn’t go home before these stalled laws are completed which includes but not limited to the HCL we are still in great shape of seeing this take place.
I for one really like our/their chances of currency reform in the near future!!!
Not as long as the last two days, lol. Stryker
