Phantom II: We see the ducks, they all seem so serene sitting in the water when in reality they may be paddling like crazy....those good guys working on the RV may be working feverishly but because we can't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening.
Mtcdad: Instead of another week gone, we are another week closer. See the difference? Puts a whole different attitude in the room
[imperium] Even though there's been much poo-pooing in the past about the RV being held off to sweep Maliki in at the next election... it sure seems like that's what's happening. IMO
[Moonchild] imperium the problem with that is that it is getting too close to the election to do him any good. The RV would have to occur long enough before for changes to be seen and that takes time for those who do not have a stash of dinars to use to make purchases with.
[Moonchild] this is more or less already too late to help Maliki. It is likely to take several months for the effect to show for the majority of iraqis.

[Moonchild] what I was told is that Maliki was trying everything possible to make it happen back in October and November.
[imperium] Moonchild I beg to differ. As soon as the RV is announced in Iraq and the people start seeing cash in hand, Maliki can begin to brag and the propagandan will begin from his camp to make him look like a hero. Elections are driven by emotions.. not facts. History will bear that to be so.
[imperium] If 2 days before the elections the majority hated him.. then the day before the election the funds were seen in the people accounts... they will turn on a dime and reelect him…..IMO
[golferiam] How many times in the past 3+ years have we heard, "this must happen by or before such and such happens"? We get to "such and such" and it hasn't happened. I don't believe the ones in control of the GCR/RV have but one thing on their minds..."when is it the right time for the GCR/RV"...and I don't think they have told anyone what that is.
[1yinca] I have come to my own conclusion that there is no deadline in this thing
[1yinca] And if there is...it keeps moving
[sorshadeanin] Listen, none of us can control when this will occur. All we can control is our reaction to the RV and the GCR.
[sorshadeanin] I think we all have a certain level of frustration with the fact that it hasn't gone yet, and that includes Tony and his intel team. They want it to go just has much as we all do. All we can do is take the intel and plan the best we can.
[tommyk] 3-9-2014 BGG… from now until about April 1st (ish) is a very hot window...provided Maliki doesn't stir up another hornets nest.

[BigDog-OH] Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him a... super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

[BigDog-OH] I got in a fight with my wife last night and it was totally my fault. She asked me what was on the TV and I said: dust. Didn't go too well after that.
