10-1-2012 Mountainman: IMHO the statement from the CBI and World Bank about turning in dinars for dollars could be a sign they want to get the dinars off the street.
"The Bank also decided to double the sale of foreign currency ceilings sold cash to banks a week and decided to abolish foreign currency ceilings also sold banks on a daily basis, for the purposes of conversion."
Maybe this is one way they will reduce the money supply and prepare in country for the RV. If I was Shabibi, this is exactly what I would do prior to a big RV. This is just a hunch but it could be related.

10-1-2012 CY: It looks like a National Meeting will be announced soon. I am hoping that this will be the case this week. I don’t think Talabani will announce a National Meeting unless he was pretty confident of success.
If Talabani continues to delay political resolution in Iraq, he is going to come under increasing pressure to do something or resign. If Talabani were to resign that would be OK too. Either way one would be progression towards the IQD RV in my opinion.
The RV will not occur until the politics gets straightened out which could happen very quickly on the optimistic side. Or there could be continual Maliki and Talabani delay upon delay. Talabani has definitely brought about delay upon delay which has benefited Maliki. After a while one is going to seriously have to ask themself which side is Talabani on. Either what is best for Iraq or for Maliki.
10-1-2012 Butifldrm: It's going to be very interesting to see Maliki and Allawi come to some sort of compromise. Erbil, should have been done 2010. Promises Maliki made, that he now call unconstitutional.
I am very excited to see how this whole thing plays out. Now is the time when we are going to see what's been smok'n mirrors and what been the truth.
10-1-2012 Uncirculd: The problem with the infrastructure law is allocation of funds not being spelled out. So basically, Maliki can take that money and do what he wants with it. Like giving him a blank check.
Just like the electricity and other services and/or infrastructure. All have failed due to Maliki's shenanigans. Maliki needs money and he went to parliament to ask them to pass this law, but his ulterior motive was to get himself some more money. I guess his supply is running out.
10-1-2012 Kaperoni: This week got off to quite a bank with an Economist article stating the dinar will equal the US dollar within a few days.
