10-14-12 Easyrider: You have to ask yourself what have they accomplished while Maliki is there? Hmm no NM, no HCL, no chapter 7 release. The guy is obviously a puppet for Iran. Hes done his best to block a lot of important things because of power and greed now he is trying to accuse shabbs because he wants to take over the CBI. This is just getting ridiculous. It's time for them to show him who is Boss, Talabani needs to buck up and the majority need to get him out of there.
10-14-12 LoriC: I believe Maliki is making false accusations against the Shabibi and leaking statements to the press from anonymous sources to set up a CBI takeover and further his grip on the country of Iraq. This is a huge mistake for him. The US, China, Russia, IMF, World Bank etc., will never let this happen with so much riding on this.
The world needs this bad with the global financial crisis reaching it's boiling point and the Prime Minister of Iraq is not going to get in the way of a plan that has been in the works for a decade.

0-14-12 Mountainman: If you don't believe the US has been behind this plan from the beginning, read this article from 2003. "U.S. President George W. Bush has hailed the launch of Iraq's new currency as an important milestone for the Iraqi economy. Bush said the new currency will help unify Iraq, which had previously used two different versions of the dinar in different areas.
For more than a decade, different areas of Iraq have used two different versions of the dinar, and many of those notes were counterfeit, diminishing the value of those that were genuine. The new dinar will be used throughout Iraq, thereby unifying the economy and the country. The new currency will have special features that will make it difficult to counterfeit. Bush also hailed the new currency as a sign of economic promise."
I can think of one great reason they went to all the trouble to make sure the currency would be so hard to counterfeit and it certainly isn't because it would be worth a tenth of a cent. The reconstruction plan for Iraq that is now unclassified outlines that part of the plan is to restructure their currency. This has always been about money and oil. We believe they are ready to move on an economic front and will pull the trigger as soon as the GOI has a government in place that will be able support these reforms and won't fall apart long term.
