Liquidity is a measure of the ability and ease with which assets can be converted to cash. Liquid assets are those that can be converted to cash quickly if needed to meet financial obligations; examples of liquid assets generally include cash, central bank reserves, and government debt.
Liquidity refers to the amount of liquid cash (Currency) they hold at any given particular time. This money is used to sanction loans, meet customer withdrawal needs etc.

JUNE 23 2014 THE ECONOMY BANK SENT A LETTER TO THE CBI REQUESTING THE RELEASE OF 6 BILLION DINAR BACK FROM THEIR HOLDINGS IN ORDER TO PAY BACK MONEY OWED TO DEPOSITORS, AND THE CBI APPROVED THIS AND IS REQUESTING FROM THE BANK DOCUMENTATION OF HOW TO PROCEED SO THE PROCESS IS GRADUAL AND IN ORDER.
THE QUESTION WE HAVE IS WHY IS THE CBI USING THE DEPOSITORS MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Aggiedad77: Good Morning MY LADIES……I may have my thinking cap on backwards this morning......but could this money have been what was sent to the CBI back in the spring when they were requesting banks to additional monies to the CBI to continue to operate.....
I probably have that wrong in some way....my memory isn't what it should be, I just remember the CBI pulling large sums of money from the banks across Iraq back in the spring.....is it possible that the banks ended up submitting depositors money if they were short their own money?
If this is true, perhaps PM Abadi is trying to rectify a wrong that was done to the people and is sending some of this money back. I think we saw this back then also as an attempt to get much of the large IQD's off the street.....but I could also be all wet on this too....just trying to think back and forth.....sort of a dizzying process with only one cup of coffee....LOL. Aloha Randy
MY LADIES: RANDY THAT IS CORRECT, BACK N THE EARLY SPRING THE CBI REQUESTED I THINK AN ADDITIONAL 250 MILLION FROM EACH BANK FOR CAPITAL. WHEN WE READ THIS PDF WE JUST FIND IT ODD THAT THE REQUEST FOR MONEY BACK WAS WRITTEN IN JUNE AND ONLY NOW BEING ADDRESSED.
THIS LEADS US TO WONDER HOW THE ECONOMY BANK HAS BEN MANAGING THE PAST 5 MONTHS. I'M SURE THERE IS NOTHING HUGE OR OF ANY MAJOR SIGNIFICANCE AT THIS POINT, BUT JUST AN OBSERVATION WHILE WE WERE READING THE PDF.
BY THE WAY GOOD MEMORY FOR ONLY 1 CUP OF COFFEE..LOL..
walkongstick: Parliamentary Finance plans to restructure the legislation law Rafidain and Rasheed

Aggiedad77: This is just an observation of mine....but for months we have talked about the "lava flow".....the movement of it and how it can't be stopped....it's my opinion that maybe we have all conjured up the wrong vision in our minds of this lava flow.
What happens in the mountain.....even before you see the lava flow? Don't we feel the mountain shake and rumble....maybe some steam is let off through fissures near the top....I suspect that is exactly what we've been witnessing....
IMO....this article is continued proof of that......this new government has continually....since the beginning of their time several months....they have been trying to give powers back to the people....first to the provinces.....to the people.....they know the people matter....
Now they are doing the same thing with the banks....these two "state" banks....let's allow them more latitude on their own behalf, we don't need all of this control that the former government so vigorously sought, because they trusted no one....instead let's mop up corruption, let's put forth honest efforts that instead of reeking with corruption...they shine with INTEGRITY....
This is the NEW IRAQ Family.....welcome what you see and know that with all this change so will come the final aspects of the MR.
I feel like I've had a V-8 this morning.....right to the forehead. Frank has said recently that they are doing things "right before our eyes".......well IMO......this is evidence of that effort on the Iraqi's part.
The mountain is rumbling and communicating with us.....we just have to know how to listen.....we have to know where to watch for the eruption.....still with the CBI......theirs will be the first of the major fissures that will break through for us. Aloha Randy

Cabinet-called "citizen government."
BAGHDAD / Baghdadi News / ... A source from the prime minister, on Tuesday, announced the launch site citizen government.
The source said in an interview / Baghdadi News / "The Department of Public citizens and public relations at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers launched the official site for the reception of the Government of citizen complaints of citizens on the title (http://www.ca.iq)".
Aggiedad77: More mountain rumblings
Here is an even bigger proof that we are seeing MAJOR change coming about in Iraq.....Maliki's government would have never considered relinquishing anything to the people.....yet here we see PM Abadi's government setting up a part or portion of his government specifically to handle issues of the people.....talk about transparency.....lessons to be learned here I think....
Give the the people what they want.....answers....how do you go about that.....create an area within parts of the government that are the most critical to the people....at least in their minds......and provide them with the avenue to see their questions and concerns being visibly addressed.
Yes indeed the mountain rumbles.....the giant awakens.....I do not think the lion sleeps tonight....LOL.....and remember....just as with the rumblings....all could change in the "blink of an eye".....the top of the mountain is there in one minute or second...and the next it is "poof" gone....remember Mount St. Helens.....IMO....the Iraqi eruption is coming and hopefully sooner than later. Aloha Randy
jdtolle » November 18th, 2014, Excuses or achievement
Do you live each day focused on excuses? Or are you instead focused on achievement?
If you’re focused on excuses, you won’t even make an attempt unless you’re sure you’ll get it perfect. When you’re focused on achievement, though you may not get it completely perfect, you will get it done.
If you’re focused on excuses, the slightest obstacle will stop you cold. When you’re focused on achievement, you’ll work your way through any challenge.
If you’re focused on excuses, you’ll avoid unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations. When you’re focused on achievement, you’ll seek out new, invigorating circumstances and will find great value in them.
Excuses sound reasonable, and enable you to be temporarily satisfied with yourself for doing nothing more than thinking them up. In the long run, though, excuses can bury you under a mountain of missed opportunities.
Let go of the easy excuses, and grab on to a burning desire for meaningful achievement. Focus not on excuses, but on real achievement, and you’ll bring a profusion of that great, satisfying achievement into your world.
