Twilight News / failure of the leaders of the National Alliance to go out on behalf of a candidate for the formation of the next government, after meeting lasted for an hour advanced on Thursday-Friday.
It was agreed that the President Fuad Masum, with Iraqi parliament speaker Salim al-Jubouri, the need to give the National Alliance as the biggest bloc yesterday candidate for prime minister on Thursday evening.
A spokesman for the bloc citizen eloquent Abu tirelessly for "Twilight News", the leaders of the National Alliance did not come to something new during their meeting today.
And decisiveness postponed to tomorrow after Sunday.
He added that the constitutional deadline mandated by the President of the Republic for the candidate of the National Alliance, the largest bloc ends on Friday, not Thursday as imagined a lot.
As what has been calculated on the inauguration of President infallible versus 15 days, a constitutional period of the assignment.
And why not choose the name of the candidate Abu Galal said.
The leaders of the state law differed on more than one name has not yet undecided.
And the most prominent candidates who were traded during the meeting, said Abu Galal, "Haider al-Abadi and Tarek Najm of state law."
The religious authority in Najaf has called on more than one occasion to the necessity of forming a government acceptable to the national scale, and only hinders one of the political leaders that Bcbut positions and not be waived in an apparent reference to Prime Minister outgoing Nuri al-Maliki, which rejects demands to step down and insists on his accession to office for the third time.
luckylady: Thanks tlar. Wonder what it's going to take to get them past this. I will hope and pray Sunday brings better news.
BlueyesinLevis: Not being snarky.. but .. better news? I LOVE the news we have seen... Hysterical Maliki... ameri and sharistani voting against him.. 70 to 23....within his OWN SoL bloc.
Humanitarian aid on the way to the displaced people.... possible airstrikes by Turkey at least.. and the US at best.... against ISIS.. signaling a real resolution that simply has not yet been reported....
-This has been one heckuva news day.... and if you would have told me 3 months ago we would have this day.. with a looming announcement of the new PM (and hopefully his CoM choices lined up)
-I would have been over the moon.
-Not busting on ya, LL.. just trying to put this all in perspective. Toaday is a GREAT DAY. :)
Deborah: You're right, Levis. Good perspective. Thanks
Luckylady: Maybe you missed some of the news Blue... In any event, I respect your perspective....I just don't share it.
rissas dad: I hear ya blue, but for myself I'm disappointed in the lack of meeting these deadlines set by themselves meaning the NA. They said last weekend they would have a name on Monday.
Heck Massum gives them one and still no name. Why call Massum in to parliament today unscheduled if you don't have a friggin name yet? What was the point of that? ‘
They've had the whole Eid to figure it out and all the time before that. Now its Sunday. And our boy jabouri says today the constitutional deadline shouldn't even be a constraint.
And then Massum threatens again to resign over the deadlock. See what I'm getting at? There is a lot of movement and it feels close but damn why can't they get their guy? That's why I'm frustrated.
Skylimit: Everyone, do you really think they're going to vote in the new PM, tell us the budget's passed, oh by the way HCL is done and don't forget to cash in on Monday.
There's so much BS in all of these conflicting articles we really don't know for sure what's been done.
tlar thought Maliki was under control several weeks ago and today he's running around having temper tantrums.
All I'm saying is people need to stop treating articles as facts until verified. For all we know they may have decided on a PM but aren't releasing it yet.
Ralph: Right on skylimit.... These articles are all over the board, but for the most part we are hearing what we need to... In other words, if Maliki were to get his way, or, got his way, he would be boasting it all over the news & arresting any one who was not on his team & or, their families.....
He wouldn't be throwing tantrums, & arguing with every one... How do we know this? Because he has done it before!!
He won't act violently, cause the USA (read: SEALS) are ready for him & his ragtag army!!!! If he wants to go out in a haile of gunfire, then so be it!!! Allah is waiting for him!!!
Deborah: Did anybody watch Obama on Fox? I missed it but supposedly he said Iraq needs a new PM. Can anyone elaborate?
Ralph: Posted it on another thread..... We will help Iraqi's. They have a new speaker, President & are working- On getting a New Prime Minister...!! . Barack Obama, Aug. 7th...
That's what I just heard Barry say on his speech tonite....!
Deborah: Coolio! Thanks Ralph :)
BlueyesinLevis: luckylady, Sorry you seem to be allowing your own expectations get you down.
I have seen all the news.. I hate to say it.. :) but you cant find a thread here without my fingerprints on it. I learned long ago.. not to project my own western perspective onto these people.
I am a "git 'er done" kinda guy.. in my western mindset.. I dont understand why they dont just DO IT.
That said... if you read what Sky has written today in several threads.. what Ralph has said... what I am saying..... you understand that they have their own timeline.. their own methods.. their own reasons... and their own agenda...which is what THEY are following.
-I for one... am THRILLED to hear the news today... and then to find out that Obama in his speech just tonight said... ( according to Ralph who watched it)
-"We will help Iraqi's. They have a new speaker, President and are working on getting a New Prime Minister".
-There you go.. how much better could today get? Obama himself just said on the world stage.... they are working on getting a new PM. I'm over the moon! :)
BlueyesinLevis: If I can emerge from 2014 a wealthy man.. what do I care what day it happens? :)
Fred: Amen Blue!!!!
Jackt: Right on Blue, I already have my resignation letter written and its short and simple:
"Bye Bye" .... :lol::lol::lol: 8)
JBG: I watched the Obama speech tonight..not just on Fox...on every national station.....and yes he said exactly what the previous posts have stated...they have elected a new POM, a new President and working on getting the new PM done....
and yes we are going to give humanatarian help to the people stranded on top of that mountain and he has given the go ahead for air strikes if the terriosts move further into Erbil....
