Iraqi market for securities is preparing for elections to the Board of Governors
The ISX is ready to hold elections for the Board of Governors next month, June 21....ignore the "next year" part.
Planning: Achieving Justice growth to all parts of Iraq requires securing 400 trillion dinars
The Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation has indicated to satisfy their 5 year plan, they will need to secure 400 trillion dinars....this will be used to reduce disparity between provinces....helping them to become more equal....and also between urban and rural development.....some of this development will help to create jobs as well as further diversifying the economy.
40 days in front of the parliament to approve the budget
Economic misery.....is that really something new for this year....I don't think so.....why would they choose to wait 40 days unless they choose to be lazy and not show so a quorum isn't reached...IMO....these lame duck folks should be heavily fined for NOT showing up for a scheduled Parliament session.....they should also be fined daily for the delays in passing the budget....it takes hitting them in the pocketbook to get their attention.....at this point if they know they aren't coming back....what reason do they have to work for the benefit of the people.
Higher sales of supermarkets during March to 2.4 billion dinars
Grocery sales were up for the month of March....2.4 billion dinars up from 2.2 billion dinars in February.....a good thing especially when many have not received paychecks for a while.
Economists: Iraq's entry into the sixth item dealings revived global economic and trade
This is a very big article with much to be digested from it.....By Iraq finally being able to walk out of UNSC VII last summer.....they are now able to address the "Sixth item" which I'm presuming at this point to be Chapter VI....which sounds like it deals specifically with economic and trade relations....areas that would be opened up more so with the removal of CH VII.....not liking that if they do anything that is contrary to CH VI....they could find themselves facing CH VII again.....however, by entering into CH VI.....it removes many penalties that Iraq was subjected to under CH VII.....thus providing greater confidence with the international community....especially so on the financial and economic sides of things.
25/5 as the date for the announcement .. elections
