KiwiDoc: Barzani's kid is seemingly taking over for dad when it comes to being the spokesperson for the kurds
chattels: ‹@KiwiDoc› Massoud has been conveniently / intentionally " on the front lines " for several good political reasons i believe
chattels: itis both heroic and avoids the politics of a number of current issues
KiwiDoc: ‹@chattels› I find the dynamics of the three sects to be the confounding issue that Abadi has deal with. A task that given the desire of the US to interfere subversively will make the resolution of this complicated to say the least
chattels: bbl - keep the faith and your dinar :)
whitelions: Hi all so they want Maliki tried but they don't trust they're own courts so off to the international courts they go that kills 2 birds with 1 stone , it gets rid of Maliki and at the same time they can't cry sectarianism!!!
whitelions: Iraqi call for an international trial of Nuri al-Maliki ....Picture And that the Iraqi parliamentary committee of inquiry did not reveal in the fall of Mosul,
however, the organization Daash results of their investigations, but the information is taken seep whether by members of the Committee, or through the move played by those who facilitated the Daash seizure of Mosul.
Mr. Adel Nouri, an Iraqi Kurdish parliamentarian representing the Kurdish Islamic Party, face a direct indictment of Nuri al-Maliki, head of the former Iraqi government, and called for the prosecution of Nuri al-Maliki by the International Criminal Court because of fears of the lack of seriousness and impartiality of the Iraqi judiciary, which often manipulated by al-Maliki..... www.theiqdteamconnection....
disciple7: ‹@whitelions› Great news!! thanks for sharing
disciple7: it doesn't say when though...

vtech: Maliki will disappear just watch
vtech: He has enough money to escape
jarhead: hope he dont but i see that too
MrDiagy: Vte, why he hasn't is beyond me
jarhead: imo he feels his political play will prevent it
Dianne777: so will this trial hold up the forward motion of the rv?
MrDiagy: IMO M has NO pull, and will run for his life eventually. I truly have no idea why he hasn't yet
disciple7: ‹@MrDiagy› he has to have some kind of pull..
disciple7: whatever "pull" he doesn't have money and intimidation covers it..
disciple7: he livesi the presidential palace.. who can do that without pull..
MrDiagy: "pull" to stop the RV or Iraq from becoming INTly compliant
MrDiagy: He has money, and a lot, we know
disciple7: ‹@MrDiagy› imo stop I doubt but slow to the point where it seems like it stopped yes
MrDiagy: I agree
disciple7: imo he needs to go or this isn't happening til he is bye bye..
MrDiagy: who knows

[02:49:53 PM] Donnie: Muqtada al-Sadr demands Obama to apologize for Abadi By Abdelhak Mamoun - Jun 23, 2015
[02:49:56 PM] Donnie: (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The cleric Muqtada al-Sadr demanded US President Barack Obama to apologize to Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and the Iraqi people because of ignoring Abadi during the G7 summit. Sadr’s demand came as an answer to a question by one of his followers (Muhammad Kazim) to comment on the incident. Sadr replied:
“I heard that Obama apologized . If he did not do so, he should apologize to all Iraqi people in general.” The White House denied the rumors on Tuesday that Obama deliberately ignored Abadi during the G7 summit, which was held in Germany.
chattels: ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Hundreds of Islamic State militants launched several attacks on Peshmerga-controlled villages in the south of Kirkuk province Monday morning. Peshmerga forces claim to have foiled and beaten back the attacks. Rudaw video from today’s battles shows an intense gunfire exchange between Peshmerga and ISIS militants.
A Peshmerga officer who spoke to Rudaw said ISIS was defeated and did not capture any territory in the battles. "More than 600 ISIS fighters launched an attack on Talwra, Big Homeyra, Small Homeyra, Al-Murra and Shahid villages, but they were defeated by the Peshmerga,”
said a Peshmerga officer who gave his name only as Rasul. Rasul said the Kurdish forces with the aid of US-led airstrikes were able to defeat the ISIS attacks, but heavy fighting is still going on in Murra village.
Kurdish estimates indicated that more than 100 ISIS fighters have been killed and injured in Monday’s battles. ISIS forces attempted to take control of the Syryani oil refinery in southeastern Kirkuk, but the Peshmerga were able to destroy two ISIS Humvees and defend the cluster of villages around the refinery.

chattels: Iraqi warplane drops bomb on Baghdad, kills 12 people
chattels: BAGHDAD — An Iraqi Russian-made fighter jet accidentally dropped a bomb over a Baghdad neighborhood on Monday, killing at least 12 people on the ground, Iraqi officials said.
The plane — one of several Sukhois used by Iraq in the fight against the Islamic State group was returning to base when the accident happened. Military spokesman, Brigadier General Saad Maan Ibrahim, said that a technical failure caused the Sukhoi jet to malfunction and drop the bomb, which hit a number of houses in the Iraqi capital's eastern neighborhood of New Baghdad.

chattels: WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is making a rare visit to the Pentagon to get an update from military leaders on the campaign against the Islamic State. Obama's meetings follow a wave of weekend airstrikes by the US-led coalition in eastern Syria.
The coalition says it was one of the most sustained aerial operations carried out in Syria to date. Obama has insisted he will not send U.S. troops into combat to fight the Islamic State in Iraq or Syria.
However, he has acknowledged that the US lacks a "complete strategy" for training Iraqi troops to carry out ground missions. Efforts to train Syrian rebels are also sputtering. Fewer than 100 rebels are being trained by the US, far less than the goal of producing 5,400 fighters a year.
chattels: ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Social media accounts associated with the Islamic State have claimed in Monday pre-dawn assaults on the Kurdish Peshmerga west of Kirkuk the jihadists killed several Peshmerga and took one captive. The Peshmerga have since claimed to have defeated the ISIS assault aimed at capturing an important oil facility in the area, but have not released any information about their casualties or the alleged captured Peshmerga.
