newbieDA: but if you are not watching videos or watching the news, Iraq is a **
ajay214: I will say that a major battalion of the US Army is being deployed to Iraq next month. No boots on the ground, my eye. These are not consultants by any stretch. They are Army fighters.
newbieDA: pray for them, dont say pay me
Doug_W: and its ABOUT time too
newbieDA: ‹@ajay214› ya they will train the Iraq's, 160 last article
newbieDA: I like that, you focus on security issues too
newbieDA: we have magor security and corruption issues right now
newbieDA: if you don not plan on day where they make it where you will visit Iraq, this investment is dead in the water, would goto Greece right now?
Oneness: as mentioned, i do think it is possible to be reinstated at 1166, it just has no value, no rv without ngl
newbieDA: ‹@Oneness› I agree -- not happening right now, it was scraped - new one being written totally new
newbieDA: still have the first one with two readings
newbieDA: did anyone read the AML law?
newbieDA: its real basic, just terms needed in the law books to help fight corruption
Oneness: naw ... doubt it really has any direct effect in my life, ... but .... in America .... we have the PAtriot Act
newbieDA: just a bunch of definitions
newbieDA: dont get me started on America newbieDA: lol we are slaves
newbieDA: I can talk about this for hours
Donnie: ‹@newbieDA› corporations can't have slaves. we are employees of USA Inc.
Oneness: business dealing with silver and gold in America must have a written anti money laundering policy that can be read by the feds on demand
newbieDA: IMF and WB demands, yes
newbieDA: to get loans
newbieDA: you didnt read that?
newbieDA: they said by Oct 1st
Oneness: so ... we don't have to worry about oct 1 now ???
newbieDA: Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Law - Passed Avoid being Blacklisted - by October 1st
newbieDA: I write this to someone today
MzDiva: after Oct 1st then whats there next move I wonder
Oneness: good ... everything going along as planned then ...
newbieDA: newbie Member Posts: 809 ya nice! Glad that isnt hangin over our heads any longer
newbieDA: ‹@Oneness› well to a point
newbieDA: some said this
newbieDA: the only reason for the financial crisis in iraq is the inability of the parliament to pull their finger out and pass the needed laws
newbieDA: so I said this
Oneness: @Mzdiva ... next move is actually USA?feds ... does the feds raise interest rates tomorrow ... ??
newbieDA: I disagree, I feel they are on target right now with the needed laws. At first in this investment I thought this was all in our heads, I am not going to lie. But now Iraq does seem to have a formulated plan, even with the reconciliation issues Iraq has.
You forget they have been passed laws, ex. Law of Treaties, Law of Parties, National Card and now the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Law.
Iraq needs more security and corruption taken care of before the well publicized Investment Law can be passed, and you should have noticed this law in the news and even on the agenda a couple of times, even seems Adabi wants to be in Parliament when it passes.
But let me ask you this, would you pass the Investment Law right now under the current situation? probably not! Cause no international investment can come in until corruption is taken care of and in full effect along with the law, it seems to be a confidence issue on both sides of the coin. ty for letting me babble!
Doug_W: Babble on McDuff lol
disciple7: ‹@newbieDA› well said
Oneness: t is good to laugh. Laughter is a spiritual relaxation. When they were in prison, He said, and under the utmost deprivation and difficulties, each of them at the close of the day would relate the most ludicrous event which had happened.
Sometimes it was a little difficult to find one but always they would laugh until the tears would run down their cheeks. Happiness, He said, is never dependent upon material surroundings, otherwise how sad those years would have been. As it was they were always in the utmost state of joy and happiness.
Doug_W: ‹@Oneness› where does that come from and its TRUE
Oneness: www.thejourneywest.org/20... http://www.thejourneywest.org/2013/04/08/abdul-baha-and-laughter/
Oneness: just wish i could develop a sense of humor that all would enjoy ... for me, humor/laughter is difficult Oneness: to wrapped up in my own head i guess ... :silly: ...

OOTW: SCZIN11 BROUGHT THIS IN AND IT'S WHAT I CONSIDER A GREAT INSIGHT INTO ANOTHER REASON AS TO WHY THE INVESTMENT LAW HASN'T PASSED BECAUSE THE ANTI MONEY LAUNDERING NEEDED TO BE IN PLACE PRIOR TO THE PASSING OF THE INVESTMENT LAW...
REMEMBER EARLIER TODAY I POSTED A PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MINISTRY OF PLANNING SITE WHICH STATED (IN PART) THAT PART OF THE REASON WAS THAT THE PARAMETERS FOR LETTERS OF CREDIT FOR "CONTRACTORS" STILL HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY LEGISLATED
OOTW: Attributed to the economic and investment commission in Parliament, on Wednesday, to postpone the vote on the amendment of the Investment Law to the presence of the desire of some of the proposals it added, indicating that it will meet with the rest of the House of Representatives to discuss ways to develop the law.
The head of the committee, Jawad al-Bolani, said in an interview to the (long-Presse), "The decision to postpone the vote on the second amendment to the investment law, to after Eid al-Adha holiday, came to the importance of Money Laundering Act," noting that "the Money Laundering Act includes time timings imposed to speed up its approval, and giving priority to vote. "
He said al-Bolani, that "MPs expressed their desire to postpone the vote on the amendment of the Investment Act until after the Eid holiday to add some of the ideas for the development of the investment reality in the country," returned to "good if the postponement is intended for the development of the law."
He welcomed the Chairman of the Committee of Economy and Investment, to "any add-on investment law that will check the public interest and attract investors," asserting that "the Committee will meet after the Eid holiday with the House of Representatives to listen to their comments and ideas about the law."
The Iraqi Council of Representatives, failed on Wednesday, during its meeting of the 23, the adoption of the Second Amendment to the investment law, and to him after the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The parliament approved the 2006 Iraqi investment law, which it was said at the time that he "will open the doors wide the" to foreign investment, due to submit a lot of facilities to foreign investors,
but that many foreign companies are still hesitant because of fears that the security situation is stable in Iraq, adding that the law did not give investors the right to ownership of the property the project,
and equated the Iraqi and foreign investors in all the privileges, with the exception of real estate ownership, as it allows the foreign investor lease the land for 50 years, subject to renewal, according to paragraph 11 of the Investment Law.
