WOW....did anyone know that for the past 11 years Iraq has been conducting an experiment with their government.....the good news here is that it has been a successful experiment....according to them.....their form of government has been fair and transparent...and they live in an atmosphere of freedom and democracy....the Commission responsible for the upcoming elections has been making many preparations that involve integrity and again transparency that also include software updates for the ballots....oh yes don't forget the ID cards to vote also.
Iraq's oil production up to the highest in 35 years
According to the Wall Street Journal....Iraq averaged 3.6 million barrels of oil per day in February.....they are equating this to an annual production.....saying that it is higher than the 1979 production rate of 3.5 million barrels of oil per day....when Iraq's oil industry was booming....well guess what Family....it is once again a boom time for oil in Iraq. The article also mentions several of the "Big Boy" oil companies and reminds us they have pumped billions of dollars into the Iraqi oil fields to revive the deterioration of years of neglect from wars and sanctions.....this is a subtle reminder that these oil companies are not likely to leave their investments laying on the table without getting something in return for their efforts.....will they be leaving any time soon.....IMO....not likely....right now oil is still king in Iraq and will remain so until something else moves ahead of it....something like a viable cash process.

Baghdad Claims Preliminary Accord in Oil Talks; Erbil Reports No Progress
Ok so let's muddy the waters even more....now Baghdad is the one claiming a preliminary agreement on oil issues....but Erbil is saying nope...no progress....Barzani is still being quoted from several days ago saying his patience is wearing thin.....again the Turkish government is also spotlighted saying that once the Ceyhan storage tanks are full, the oil must be released to the world markets....let's bring this to a head and certain closure....it has dragged out long enough.

Abdel Basset Turki for "Qurtas News": the signing of a contract worth 217 million dollars for the construction of a road No. 1
Ok, I've read this article twice now.....and I'm still scratching my head as to why Turki would be the one making this kind of announcement....what am I missing that would draw the CBI into such a deal....normally this would be some member of Parliament making such an announcement that would help fund a project to build what is called Road No. 1....a break in normal patterns and routines.....a scenic byway through the middle of Iraq....from the seaport of Umm Qasr all the way to the Jordan and Syria border....sounds like the interstate system is coming to Iraq.

Concerns behind the postponement of the project to delete the zeros from currency
Several MP's are expressing concerns for any delays in deleting the 000's......they claim the delay has been in the government, not with the CBI....well hootie tootie.....we already knew that.....read Frank's CC notes.....sure they can spout off several reasons for making this happen....but when the heck are they just gonna "do it".....nothing like the present to move forward.
Al-Maliki shies away from Chalabi’s challenge to a TV debate
First Maliki agrees to the TV debate....but then thinks better of it.....using his lack of recall for numbers as an excuse....come on....we know better....besides it is late.....if he doesn't have this sewn up.....then who can beat him at his own game.....corrupt you say.....well he's a politician....enough said.

Biden’s three-region plan to be implemented in Iraq
Geez a good idea.....from VP Biden.....well I will be darned.....Iraq is considering his 3-region plan and may indeed implement it in the future.....well at least the Kurds seem onboard with it and maybe the Sunni's....guess this action will depend on the outcome of the election on the 30th....the Kurds it seems aren't ready for a total split from Iraq but are interested in creating a confederation status with Iraq.
Company of the Iraqi family ensures 500 000 dinars per month
Someone is talking of connecting the oil wealth to the Iraqi citizens....amazing...it is about time....they are claiming with the development of a national oil company and ownership of shares by the Iraqi people they will see monthly incomes of between 500,000 and 1,000,000 dinars per month.....they are talking of expansion....a good thing to hear in the oil industry....both in terms of production as well as refining and petrochemical endeavors that will benefit the country and its citizens in the long haul.
