Chattels ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi sacked Falih Alfayyadh, the national security advisor, from his positions for his involvement in the government formation talks on Thursday, claiming this undermines the task of the security apparatus.
“In light of Mr. Falih Faisal Fahad Alfayyadh getting involved in practicing political and partisan work, and his wish to address political affairs, which goes against the critical national tasks he is holding…” read a decree released by the Facebook page for Abadi’s office.
Alfayyadh was the head of Hashd al-Shaabi commission and is affiliated with former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s State of Law Coalition.
chattels Alfayyadh reportedly was working with Fatih and Maliki to establish the largest parliamentary bloc.
Baxter no wonder he fired him
chattels Baxter Rather decisive for Abadi, eh ? Almost " Trumpian ".
Baxter I wish they would get their act together... am so tired of the bickering....
Baxter Now... I read where they may hold Parliament up to the 15th
chattels Baxter My read on the Constitution, as I have posted, is that there can be one 15 day extension.
Baxter i know.... but Dinar Perspectives had an article saying the 15th now....
chattels Baxter Do you have a link ?
Baxter Baghdad / Al-Ghad Press: The first session of parliament could be postponed until September 15 due to political differences, a senior political source said Thursday.
"The first session of the parliament will not witness the election of the president of the council and his deputies because of the absence of a political agreement on that," the source told al-Ghad. "The meeting could be postponed to September 15 due to political differences."
Baxter theres part of it.. just a min
Baxter oops.... that didnt work..
Baxter thats it
Baxter According to a political source informed, last Monday, "Al-Ghad Press" that the countdown to the new session of the House of Representatives has begun, noting that President Fuad Masum may "wait" to convene until the end of the constitutional period.
The Iraqi constitution provides that the President of the Republic (after the ratification of the results) within 15 days from the date of ratification by a presidential decree the new Council of Representatives to convene under the chairmanship of the oldest members to elect the President of the Council and his deputies, then move the House of Representatives to choose the President of the Republic, The most representative parliamentary formation within 30 days of his election.
Baxter there is the rest of it
Baxter the link wont work in here.... I have a hard time with links for some reason
chattels Baxter ty
chattels BAGHDAD / The Iraqi National News Agency / nina / A member of the former parliament member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Ardalan Nur al-Din that "the Kurds will decide on the accession to the largest bloc before the next parliament session."
"The Kurds have no red lines against any political party and the doors are open to dialogue in order to reach what serves the political process," he said in a televised statement. https://www.ninanews.com/News_Details.aspx?3WGCEgZ3az0qWZLK8a1KkxqKrCzXMaHIpRgYaEQhE3M%253d
chattels Statement by the Board of Commissioners of the Electoral Commission
Date Posted 27/08/2018 14:54 (Parliamentary Alliances)
After the ratification of the Federal Court on the results of the election of the Iraqi Council of Representatives / the fourth session on 12 May 2018, and pursuant to the Law of the parties No. (36) for the year 2015 Article 29 of it and the organization of political life and party in Iraq
The Board of Commissioners approved today the procedures and forms for the process of forming political alliances (parliamentary)
Therefore, the Commission calls on all parties, coalitions and successful candidates who are planning to form parliamentary alliances to review the headquarters of the Political Parties and Organizations in the Electoral Commission as of tomorrow Tuesday, 28 August 2018 for the purpose of registration in accordance with the law, knowing that the next Friday and Saturday will be an official term in the above department
chattels Reidar Visser @reidarvisser Latest attempt by #Iraq's elections commission to control the formation of biggest bloc in parliament through registration seems contrived. There is no reference to parliament bloc formation in political parties law that is referred to as pretext
chattels David M. Witty @DavidMWitty1 In Iraqi election news, Maliki's State of Law alliance says it is ready to announce Iraq's new governing coalition, which will be State of Law, Fatah & some Kurds & Sunnis. Sairoon & Nasr alliances previously said they are close to announcing. http://mobp.as/LAcWm
Baxter Unbelievable.... its a virtual mad house over there
Dave chattels thanx chattels.....saved the best for last
chattels Dave Dave Dave
Dave i noted that Sadr-et al do not call themselves BLOC now but rather NUCLEUS
chattels The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round.
Baxter they certainly do
chattels Dave When one is 30 supporters short of a majority then they are and nucleus and not a bloc :)
chattels and= a
chattels Or, what is the difference between a bloc and a nucleus ? 30 supporters :)
Dave chattels did not know that....
chattels Dave Reidar Visser @reidarvisser As debate continues in #Iraq about the "biggest bloc" and how the current "nucleus" can be expanded, it's worth noting that the biggest bloc doesn't have to be a majority bloc. It nominates PM and can rely on others for parliamentary support, whether as part of the bloc or not
chattels Visser knows. https://twitter.com/reidarvisser
chattels Reidar Visser @reidarvisser #Iraq's new biggest parliament bloc still needs around 30 more supporters to vote in a new government. It faces the same dilemma as previous "political majority" attempts: It needs the additional support of either a major Kurdish party or one of the more pro-Iranian Shia parties
chattels Ameri's Fatah or some Kurds & Sunnis could provide the 30 additional supporters.
Dave chattels but what of all those independents that won that do not have any bloc affiliation.....
chattels Dave I am not aware of any true independents. There are smaller factions.
chattels Or political parties.

chattels This is an old list. There are more now.

chattels Iraq's political circles are divided over the recent US-led coalition's announcement that its military forces will remain in Iraq indefinitely.
Coalition spokesman Col. Sean Ryan said Aug. 19, “We’ll keep troops there as long as we think they’re needed." Once the Islamic State (IS) is defeated, the country will still need help stabilizing, "so that’s one of the reasons we’ll maintain a presence.”
The announcement came two days after the US State Department warned citizens against traveling to Iraq because of "terrorism and armed conflict."
Some opposition voices against the US presence in Iraq have seemed less harsh in recent months, though they say the extension must be approved by the Iraqi parliament. But members of some armed groups affiliated with Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) — an umbrella military organization with ties to Iran — absolutely reject the US presence in Iraq.
