House of Representatives ending the first reading of the budget and to raise its two
Even without the Kurds and the Coalition United, Parliament somehow managed to find a quorum and got through the first reading of the budget…..after that the session was adjourned until tomorrow…..at this point it is unsure if the budget will be on the agenda for the second reading.
Urgent Parliamentary Finance are demanding action, the second reading of the budget Tuesday Najafi pledging it to its report and the decision of the Presidency
Finance Committee is demanding that the budget be on the agenda for Tuesday's Parliament session.
Tayfur: Kurds are not against the adoption of the budget and demanding modified to the satisfaction of all parties
So the Kurds say they will not stand in the way of adopting the budget….but by their absence they aren't supporting it either….sitting at home isn't going to make the Kurd concerns magically go away either.
KNOC Discovers Additional Oil Reserve in Iraq
Where did they say this new field was located….."THE HAULER MINEFIELD"……yes you read that right….minefield…
according to this article….which is a tad bit late in reporting, the discoveries all happened last year…..the big thing about this discovery it is claiming an estimated reserve of 600 million barrels of oil…..
until this find the Kurd reserves were estimated at 450 million barrels….making this quite the find.
Parliament session lifted to next Monday
They got through the first reading of the budget then adjourned until tomorrow…..you know how politicians are….they can only stand for so much reading in one day.

Now the US is ready to step in and mediate the differences between Erbil and Baghdad, this is after they have tried to mediate themselves, Turkey has tried, and most recently the Speaker of Parliament…..now let the US be big brother to both groups and see what happens.

The Iraqi's talk about having a five year plan….2010-2014….and want to claim that since the US has left that much has been accomplished…..
but I would like to see a list of just what has been done. They talk about a new five year plan….2013-2018….which by the way is a six year plan….guess they can't count….but again, I would like to see something that proves they are making headway….they say they are….but where is the proof….
there is so much talk of infrastructure work needing to be started and completed, but very little evidence of it happening. Putting these plans together makes for a good report….but what does the finished product look like.

The INA bloc is putting pressure on Parliament to get the budget pushed thru and voted upon…..a majority will make this happen….then a number of other laws that are stacked up now should be passed in short order.
Wasit Council allocated 739 million dinars for the treatment of 95 patients out of Iraq
A total of 739 million dinar have been allocated to 95 Iraqi patients from Wasit who require treatment from outside of Iraq….this money was allocated by pathological need.
The guardianship by the US of Iraqi funds will be lifted in May and this could put some of Iraqi's money at risk with creditors….although they have been working to reduce the overall total amount since 2003 and only have 20% out of $120 billion dollars remaining to be paid or negotiated.
Office of Financial Supervision: the protection of Iraqi funds in America end in May next and creditors do not pose a threat
The Office of Financial Supervision and Turki from the CBI claim that there is no threat posed by the ending of the guardianship by the US this May 22nd…..Turki states that Iraq has an excellent defense in place to protect them at this point in time.

Maliki is attempting to point fingers are everyone that he can think of…..even governor of the CBI….Turki….Maliki isn't happy with anyone at the moment….
now it seems that the COM is even not happy with Maliki's wishes to change governors and has been blocking Maliki's choice for governor….wonder who that choice is.
URGENT: theft of important documents from the office of Prime Minister al-Maliki and his staff and order the book call forensic experts
Sometime after work on Thursday last, there was a theft in Maliki's office of important documents that included arms contracts with Russia, Ukraine, and also telecom operators Zain and Asia Cell along with 200,000 dinar.
He has asked for forensics investigation from the Ministry of Interior. He is looking at everyone but the office manager and the assistant office manager, Maliki's son…..relatives have privilege it would seem.
Iraq vows to provide Indonesia with 300 000 barrels of oil per day of Basra
So here's the latest….Iraq doesn't have enough refining capacity within Iraq so it must import refined petroleum products….but they choose to build a new refinery…
where….of all places Indonesia….now that makes mucho sense….HOW???…..
I thought so….shaking my head on this one….they intend to provide 300,000 barrels of light Basra crude to Indonesia per day.

Apparently there is enough MP's within the Iraqi National Alliance and the Iraqi List to constitute a quorum and allowed for the first reading of the budget today….
where have these people been for the last two months…..so with perhaps a second reading tomorrow or Tuesday it may be possible to get the budget voted upon later this week.
Military helicopters receive leaflets urging citizens to received their voting cards
Military helicopters flew at noon dropping leaflets to Iraqi's encouraging them to pick up their e-card for voting in next month's elections.
Parliamentary Finance supports the restructuring of banks in the country and to develop legislation
The Finance Committee is supportive of the restructuring needs for banks within Iraq and also the development of legislative changes that will help to ensure modernization of banking technologies and for providing protection for private banks, similar to what government banks are receiving.
Distribution  piece of land in Babylon
My take on this is that Babylon will be distributing parcels of land to Iraqi's for the construction of a home, services that will also be provided include, water, electricity, police station, health clinic, and other necessary services.
They are distributing 500 pieces of land for this effort….it is unclear how that 500 piece is being defined.
United States delivered 100 missiles Iraq [Hellfire] and fast new weapons
100 Hellfire missiles and other fast new weapons have been delivered to the the Iraqi government for use in their fight against terrorism….the US continues to attempt to provide assistance to Iraqi security forces to deal with threats and protect the Iraqi population at the same time.
