High-Five The momentum is building more than I have ever seen before. The CBI and GOI are in sync for the most part. Maliki, although still yapping his mouth, is mostly being ignored except by FAT - what's her name.
The Federal Court is being cleaned up and corruption charges are around the corner for many MP's/Leaders. The ISX is ready, and money exchange companies are soon to start trading.
The ISIS campaign has started and so far very successful. Pressure from the IMF to develop the non-oil sector continues. IMO, Iraq is more than ready.
Aloha Alex Abadi did a lot of talking latey. The international community is trying to figure out if he's the real deal or just another bloviating Shiite. If he can now get a few concrete things done, I think it will be GAME ON! -- You can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips.
mystic137 Tlar....how important do you think it is to have someone other than 'Keywords' as the Governor of CBI for this to go down? (like maybe getting Shabibi back in the saddle?)... 8) :/
DreamWeaver Thanks, Tlar. Didn't take it as though you were mean or coy. Actually, not sure you have ever been mean or coy on the board. Just so you know, I take you as honest and straight forward.
Just thought by using specific timing (12 days) there was some pending meeting, event, etc. that you were focused on. Realize now I didn't frame the question properly. No worries.
You, I and many of us believe they are on the threshhold. Personally, I don't really hang RV happening on any one thing--even the budget--because the unknown in all of this is still the issue of stability and what they believe stability means.
The budget could pass, but RV not occur until Mosul is liberated. Who really knows? I'm just coasting along focused on what they're doing, as it shows forward progress--figuring the rest will unfold as Divinity intends. Appreciate your response. ~ DW.
Tlar Mystic137, I have got to think he is on board with the new government otherwise he would be an immediate target of change. A good clue to me was when Maliki tried to have him appeal in the Shabibi case when it looked like Shabibi would quickly be exonerated.
This was a private request from Maliki to what he thought was his guy, but Keywords quickly went public with the request and has not to my knowledge, made such an appeal.
If you are secretly on the Maliki team I would think you would not want this out, but that is exactly what keywords did. He went straight to the press.
To me I think it shows keywords distancing himself from Maliki so I am hopeful that is a good sign.
As far as Shabibi getting back in the saddle, I don't think we will see that although I believe he is consulting with the CBI. Being the architect of the plan, he is a valuable resource. Tlar
Mike Agreed, AA. So far, all we've seen is Executive branch activity, they've cleaned up the corruption and other items but so far, we've seen little from the Legislative branch. That's where the rubber meets the road.
Here's hoping that Iraq can turn the corner after eight years of stagnation, so far, it's the same old same old. Pass the laws and demonstrate unity, until then, it's all bloviating, as AA stated.
