Iraqi Parliament Yearly Sessions
I believe we are getting closer my friends! Just remember that Ramadan is over August 9th and even if Parliament doesn’t get to these stalled laws by then, the next session starts September 1st.
There has been several articles out from different deputy members of parliament voicing their opinions to these controversial laws. There are those that state that they will be pushed to the next session and others including Maliki and Barzani themselves that say they will be covered before the end of Ramadan.
Either way there will be only a few weeks in-between the end of this session and the start of the next session. Or the Speaker of the House Najafi could just extend the two sessions together and then end the second year session early.
In the Iraqi constitution it states that the first session starts in the first day of March and ends June 30th. The second years session starts September 1st and end the 31st of December each year but it also says that the Speaker of the House can extend and end each session as needed.
The reason that they are still in the first years session is because Najafi gave them a 35 day break through April and May because he knew that they would be working hard these last few months.
Keep your chin up, we will see this through together! Stryker
