9-2-2012 Jeff R: I'm enjoying all the recent news. It would be great to see an RV before the conference. It has been a long eight year wait for me.
WHY FINANCE IN IRAQ? Iraq's financial system is antiquated and huge opportunities for investment are available across the entire banking and financial system.
Iraq is actively moving to an open free-market economy and the regeneration of the country's financial services is widely seen as a precursor to the reconstruction of the country as a whole.
Iraq is on the verge of a boom in project finance as massive industrial projects, power plants, and general infrastructure projects are established. Foreign investors have been granted the same rights as domestic investors.
Iraq's new Investment Law guarantees a climate where foreign investment is actively encouraged and facilitated. "The CBI, as well as the Ministry of Finance, has adopted policies to fight inflation and strengthen the Iraqi Dinar. Red tape and bureaucracy are being removed and Iraq's banking and financial services industry is poised to develop rapidly in the coming years."

9-2-2012 BOBGETZ6: Treat ALL that you hear or read at this time as rumor. I have good sources, which I trust, and much of what you hear is speculation and conjecture. They, we, I believe we are at the precipice so to speak. Waiting on whoever the PTB are.
9-2-2012 Uncirculd (Part 1): If Maliki is not taken out in handcuffs we will have a serious problem. You know how dictators are evil people. They say if I can't have it then no one will. And Maliki will cause a lot of violence, sabatoge. He already has. Allawi and Hashemi have some huge files on his corruption.
I know that most are corrupt and no one there is a saint. But I hope it doesn't stop at the questioning. They will need to subdue him.
He's a very dangerous man. Remember Maliki has grabbed all this power for the last 2 years and has his own personal army of mercenaries.
He knew he would get resistance because of what he is up to. Allawi doesn't want to show in Baghdad because of the assassination attempts. Look what happened to Hashemi, and then his bodyguards.
Maybe that high level delegation will escort him to Baghdad and be outside the door for the questioning.
9-2-2012 Uncirculd (Part 2): I just know until Maliki is stopped, there won't be any progress. Maybe I am just out there with all this, but I just haven't seen anything that proves otherwise.
I believe that Allawi and Barzani are believers in Iraq and patriots. They make progress going around the central government. They keep moving forward.
Everyone has a dirty closet in my perspective, but some of us choose to clean them up and I believe that when we ousted Saddam that made room for hope.
Remember our Presidents are corrupt also. All of them have had questionable actions. I have not heard or seen "ANY" accusations or files on Allawi and Barzani since the fall of Saddam with the exception of maliki accusing anyone who opposes him.
