During this preparation, Satan (Shaitan) tempted Abraham and his family by trying to dissuade them from carrying out God's commandment, and Abraham drove Satan away by throwing pebbles at him.
In commemoration of their rejection of Satan, stones are thrown at symbolic pillars signifying Satan during the Hajj rites.

chattels: After 2003, the former British airfield was used by both the United States Armed Forces and the New Iraqi Army as a forward operating base, and is now known as Camp Habbaniyah. From this outpost, combat operations are run from the outskirts of Fallujah to the outskirts of Ramadi.
Since 2006 Camp Habbaniyah has grown into a Regional Training and Regional Support Center as well as the headquarters for the Iraqi Army 1st Division. On going Coalition and Iraqi construction projects have revitalized much of the base.

chattels: while Iraq's state media has portrayed Habbaniyah as the base for a large counter-offensive, the area seen by CNN seemed comparatively empty, with no sense of a massive force being prepared to attack.
The Iraqi military was there, as were Shia fighting groups -- particularly the well-resourced Iraqi Hezbollah brigades -- but there was no sign of the Sunni fighters who were said to be gathering in readiness for an assault on Ramadi.
One Iraqi official said these Sunni men -- vital to ensure the offensive to retake the Sunni heartland of Anbar from being a predominantly Shia operation -- numbered 2,000 "on paper" but were more likely only 500 strong in reality.

BOBBY: Iraq calls on Turkey to coordinate its strikes on Kurdish militants By Malak Ghobrial and Mahmoud Mourad13 hours ago By Malak Ghobrial and Mahmoud Mourad CAIRO (Reuters) –
Iraq's foreign minister has called on Ankara to coordinate with Baghdad in its military campaign against Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) positions in northern Iraq following accusations that Turkish forces crossed the border into Iraq last week.
Iraq has been mostly silent about Turkish airstrikes against the Kurdish militants which began in July and have focused mainly on targets in the mountainous area of northern Iraq near the borders with Turkey and Iran. Ibrahim al-Jaafari said on Saturday he had summoned the Turkish ambassador last week to object to what he called a violation of Iraqi sovereignty.
A spokesman for the Turkish foreign ministry was not immediately available for comment. Jaafari told Reuters that Ankara has not coordinated with Iraq in the campaign, which Baghdad claims included an incursion into Iraq last week by Turkish special forces in pursuit of PKK militants.
"We are for the security of Turkey. Turkey has the right to defend itself," he said ahead of an Arab League conference in Cairo. "But there must be coordination on the ground with the Iraqi government and Iraqi armed forces."
Iraq does not control its northern border with Turkey, which is within the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region. Jaafari said Iraq would back operations if they were justified by conditions on the ground and if sufficient measures had been taken to avoid residential areas.
He also reprimanded Doha for hosting a conference earlier this month which Iraqis widely criticized for allegedly including attendees from Saddam Hussein's disbanded Baath party and Islamist hardliners wanted by Iraqi courts on terrorism charges.
He said the conference sent a message encouraging sectarianism and had undermined Iraq's relations with Qatar. "Sometimes political intervention is no less dangerous than military intervention," he said. A spokesper

Oneness: As to what we laugh at, and why, are questions that still inspire intellectual thought. There are many different forms of humour from the base to the sophisticated, the drier, broader, sharper, gentler, the cruel, the sardonic, the sadistic or the kind of humour that is charged with sexuality.
But perhaps there is still nothing funnier than watching a man, unintentionally and in a public place, drop his trousers or slip on a banana.
Whether witnessed live or watching Jeremy Beadles' "You've Been Framed,"(3) this essentially absurd event, evoking embarrassment and pain, is unsurpassable.
However much we intellectualise about humour, it is moments such as these that we respond to because they essentially address the realities of life: a man's trousers may fall and true that does happen,
it is absurd that it should happen, the pain that he feels is a pain that we all could potentially go through ourselves, and the fact that it is him and not us prompts the laugh of relief.
Whatever encapsulates the absurdity of life will evoke laughter and delight; a delight that is also tinged with hints of tragedy, confusion or pain. As Byron once wrote, "and if I laugh at any mortal thing, 'tis that I may not weep."
With life being full of such absurd happenings, the human race, at least in theory, should be laughing all the time.
Oneness: Monty Python - always look on the bright side of life www.youtube.com/watch
BOBBY: a classic !
Oneness: first time i saw bright side of life, i was shocked, mortified, but after a few minutes of watching i was like, ok, ... that is funny
BOBBY: Oneness.... English humor is not for everyone
Oneness: yeah, ... a small amount of dry humor is enough for my tastes
Oneness: the word "Humourist" does not necessarily have the connotation of "joker", of being a comical person, or engaged in frivolity. There is a range of meanings associated with this word in the English language, including, for example, the now little-used definition of "one given to humouring or indulging".
So, too, there are shades of meaning attached to the Arabic word "mazzah", which has been translated as "Humourist". One possible connotation is "playful".
Oneness: ok ... back to the iraqi dinar ... and wild (comical?) specualtion
Oneness: looking at the 100 dollar usd and the gold thread running through dividing it 60 40 ... what if ..
Oneness: what if this symbolizes the usd being backed by a gold backed iraqi dinar
Oneness: to the extent that usd (fed treasury) has already in its vaults enough iraqi dinar to cover 40% of the usd that has been printed
Oneness: or 60%, whichever
Oneness: thus 1000 usd would equal would equal 40%(0r 60%) of 1000 iraqi dinar with 1000 iraqi dinar being equal to 1 gram of 24k gold
Oneness: some sort of math like that would work for all practical purposes
Oneness: in everyday practical purposes this would be a 1 to 1 usd to iqd relationship , with slight edge towards the dinar like 1166 really being 1.16
Oneness: but in electronic representation, this actually would give usd the advantage
Oneness: anyway ... wild and even comical speculation can be fun sometimes ... shalom
Oneness: o ... just fyi, edge to the usd in electronic format is because their would be 40 to 60 percent more usd than iqd ... eventually usd would have to slip in value, but to be able to overwhelmingly support esch other in the open market one needs the numbers to play with
